Chris Brown, RB TEN (1 Viewer)

So what's going on with Chris Brown these days?

I've done google searches, searches in here... nada. He's not even listed on the FBG Depth Charts, even though he does get an '07 outlook.

And no, I'm not joking or fishing.

He's still a FA. There won't be much to report until he gets signed by someone. As an Indy fan, I think that would be a nice spot for him to land, but I suspect his contract demands are the main reason why he has yet to sign. Indy will not be willing to pay much for a backup RB.

he is going to be a back up where he signs. I think he has no FF value and I own him in 3 dynasty leagues

Well, word on the street is he's not going to be back with the Titans. The Pats talked to him last week and a few weeks back he spoke with the Bills. Back in March he apparently talked to Detroit and GB. Before that he spoke with NYJ, BAL, and PHI. That brings us up to speed, but he still has not signed anywhere. I guess teams think of him as a backup or par-time player and he doesn't agree.

I think he's waiting for someone to blow a knee in camp. The guy wants to start and for some reason, the teams needing starters addressed them pretty quickly without including Brown. Right now, he could go sign somewhere to compete for the starting gig (GReen Bay, perhaps) or sign somewhere as the #2 and hope to get touches (Buffalo, Houston). I think he is wise to wait; he'll make a lot more money "saving the day" for a team that loses a guy in camp and he's not likely to lose any of the aforementioned opportunities by waiting around a while.

I agree, his best bet is to wait until someone goes down during camp, and then swoop in like a vulture. Its really his only chance to start.

so a RB that cannot stay healthy is going to wait for another RB to get hurt. If NFL teams thought highly of Brown he would of been signed by now.

Agree and disagree at the same time. I don't think anyone really wants him as their #1 going into the year. Yet, I think there's a lot of teams that would love to sign him as their primary backup. My guess is Brown is not yet comfortable with that idea and is holding out hope something else materializes. Brown is a talented guy who you can't trust as your #1. He's yet to prove he can be a reliable 16 game workhorse. He's also looked very good at various times during his career and has the potential to be productive in the right situation (and if he stays healthy which is a big if). He'd be a real nice addition to a team like New England, Indy or Seattle...teams that should be good but are a little thin at RB. Brown is talented enough that he could be a solid stopgap should Maroney, Addai or Alexander go down.

Look at it this way:A watered down beer is not something anyone would normally want. But if it's the only beer you can get then it looks much better.
