I completely agree with the bolded part of this statement. He has shown enough in the past where he should get a chance to compete for a starting job but injury concerns from his past will keep him from being handed a starting job. I think he has about as good a chance as any other backup RB to get a starting job next season.

Back in the running: Chris Brown got a lot of work near the end of the Houston game and might get much more Sunday against the Jaguars.

"There's the chance Chris may get it all by himself this weekend," Fisher said. "We just don't know."

The veteran running back was active for the first time in seven games because rookie LenDale White was sidelined with a hip flexor. He then carried three times in the final six minutes of regulation and overtime after starter Travis Henry suffered a sprained ankle.

MRI on ankle yesterday....still to early but I might grab him for the heck of it

Just a hunch but maybe the Lions look at him for 2007 if Kevin Jones misses the season. He could be brought in on a 1 year deal and be given a chance to showcase his talent and the Lions get a guy to keep the seat warm while Kevin Jones gets healthy? Just an early possible fit.
