Chris Chambers (1 Viewer)

Any predictions?

Chambers has been pitiful so far but had a strong second half last year.

Thoughts on the rest of the year for him?

if you can get anything for him right now, id take it.

harrington and him dont have any chemistry... i dont seem him doing much in the 2nd half, but it would be nearly impossible for him to do worse than he has so far... so you have that going for him

He is more of a mediocre #3 wr for the rest of the year as long as Harrington is in there passing to Welker and Booker.

he OK for a spot start her nor there, but If I had better option at the WR pos I would utilize others

The only hope us Chambers owners have is if he has a strong second half to the season like he has a few times in his career. You're not going to get much for him at this point, so your best bet is to wait and see if he can get rolling. The odds of that happening are probably better than getting a decent starter in a trade.

He is the new slot receiver?
 http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sport...ll/15841277.htm

Chambers at slot is an option for Dolphins

Last season the Dolphins jump-started wide receiver Chris Chambers' production by moving him into the slot, and they're toying with the idea again. It might be time for Chambers -- at least a few more times per game -- to switch positions.

No, Dolphins coach Nick Saban won't shuffle him to quarterback or tight end. Instead, an occasional move during games to the inside receiver position -- called the slot -- might do the trick.

Last season, upon a similarly slow start to the season, a similar move provided an unprecedented jump in production. And while it wasn't all because he was moved around, it certainly played a role in the eventual success.

''We have put Chris in the slot [last season],'' Saban said. ``It's one of the things we started to do to move him around more. I think it's something that we need to do more of. I think it would help him get the ball more.''

Considering Harrington is actually using all his WR's and the TE opposed to Cpep only locking in on one guy...I doubt Chambers pulls in #1 WR type stats. I see stats going up for McMichael and Booker...

Odd saying something positive about Harrington, but he actually looks to be decent as their fill in. Not great, decent...

Just so everybody knows, I am starting Chambers vs Chicago this week. I say this because I always make the wrong move. So I'd avoid starting him this week if you have other options.

:goodposting: I agree..I think Mularkey is out as OC , possibly as early as next week, if they fail to show any improvement.Saban has been talking about getting Chambers more involved and lining him up in the slot..but, with the firing of OC's being the style of the day in the NFL ,I'd guess Mularkey doesn't last more than a few weeks..

I will as well b/c I have no choice. I'm not willing to drop anyone currently on my roster (we use blind bidding w/ fantasy money) topick up a #3 WR who'll likely do no more than Chambers...

I am struggling with starting Chambers this week. I don't see him doing anything against the Bears D, but if the Dolphins fall behind by a ton then Harrington will have to throw a lot again. The question then becomes whether Chambers will start getting more receptions during garbage time now that he is moving back to the slot. I think I am going to wait a week to see how things transpire. Going forward I have high hopes for him as my WR2 but not against Chicago this week.

What is the qb situation like in Miami? I mean, will CPep get the job back, or is it Joey's job to lose?
My understanding is that once CPep can prove he's got most of his quickness back he'll be the QB again. Until that time, it's Harrington. One thing to note about Chambers. His "move to the slot" is not a full-time position switch. They are saying he will be moved around the field some during the game, NOT that he will be in the slot every down. For all we know, he'll be in the slot 4, or 5 plays a game. Noone actually knows until they actually follow-through on this promise for a few games. Then we might be able to forecast, to some degree, just how much he moves around the field. The other thing to note is that if he's had strong second halves of the season with the likes of Feidler and Frerotte he could potentially do it again with Harrington.

Its the same thing they did last year though. Moved him to the slot for a number of plays each game and it helped his numbers. Put him in the slot for a play or 2, then move him back to the outside for a bit. That changes who covers him, and if the matchup is good when hes in the slot they may use him there more.Miami has tough matchups down the stretch (Chi, KC, Min, Det, Jax, NE, Buf, NYJ, IND), so I cant see his numbers increasing dramatically. All Im hoping for is decent WR2 numbers from here on out, but that may be wishing for more than is possible.

Does anyone think that Miami runs the spread offense this weekend vs. the Bears like Arizona did? They had a week off to prepare, saw Arizona's success, and have 3 pretty decent WR options plus McMichael. Hopefully Joey chucks the ball 60 times again this weekend.

More thoughts on Chambers...

Obviously FBG does think too highly of him, being ranked 36 on the cheatsheet this week.

Does Miami ride the momentum from the Bears win, where Chambers finally led the team in receptions and caught a touch down?

Does he ride out the second half of the season similar to last year? Was last week the start?

I traded away Driver in one of my leagues as I have Chambers on my bench and wanted to start him as he has a history of monster 2nd halfs. Also, with all the talk that Harrington spreads the ball around, Chambers is 8th in the league in targets, eventually those targets are going to turn into production and the Miami O seems to finally be clicking a bit more so TD opportunities should also improve.

Chambers seems to be the new Donte Stallworth from a year ago. I had Donte last year and I remember he was good for a big game every other week for a while there. Looking at Chambers numebrs, I think hes a good start this week. Check this out:

Chambers this season:

Week 1: 5 for 59

Week 2: 4 for 55 (and a TD)

week 3: 4 for 39

Week 4: 3 for 28 (and a TD)

Week 5: 5 for 29

Week 6: 5 for 60 (and a TD)

Week 7: 2 for 29

Week 9: 5 for 58 (and a TD)

week 10: 3 for 66

Week 11: ??????? (and a TD)?

I know his yardage sucks, but a TD is worth some points.

Im starting him this week (again), but Im only sitting Branch for him. Heres bettin on paydirt!

Wow...can you believe he doesn't have one game of 100 yards receiving this year??? ####...he doesn't even have one game of 75 yards. Unreal. :sadbanana:

I'm riding him from here on out. . . .R Moss is goin to the bench. . .and I have even considered throwing him on the wire so that one of my opponents will pick him up and deal with the headache. . . . .

At least Chambers has given you something every week. . . .none of this 1 catch for 8 yards and 5 dropped passes (2 of which in the endzone). . . .

I know that the 2 games for 29 with no TD was bad. . . .but watching some of his plays recently, it looks like he might come back on track a little. . . .use him as a #3 and be content.
