As my fellow Chambers owners know, he has been a huge disappointement this season. That being said, I still can't bring myself to bench the guy. I guess I am still waiting for that "big game" that he has every year and I will be majorly :hot: if it happens when he is on my bench.

Anyone else having problems benching him? If not, who are you benching him for this week? For some reason, I am thinking Joey blows up against his former team this week (Miami currently has no running game so he will have to pass a lot) and Chambers may finally have a huge game against the Lions on Turkey Day. Am I way off base here?

I'm thinking good game tomorrow. Hoping Harrington tries to show up his former team and that a shootout breaks out.

Sure would kick off Turkey day in fine fashion, anyway.

He is being targeted a ton, and as my 3rd WR he's a good risk-reward play. He always ends up with points and could have a big game. If he was my #1, I probably would be tired of his consistently average play.

I did not have any problems benching him or cutting him. Another owner in my league raced to the WW to add him and he has only caused that guy misery. I would say tomorrow is probably his best chance going forward to get into a shootout and play. He's be noticeably absent in most first halves of the games and has on occasion gotten garbage time td's to salvage some scoring weeks. I think the thing that did it for me was the game where Joey tossed the rock 62 times and Chambers had 2 or 3 catches for 29 yards. If that doesn't speak volumes for his value on the team, I don't know what does. In addition, the dude just keeps dropping the rock so he'll appear high on the target list, but catches/yardage well below what you'd expect.

Chambers has always had a poor catch to target ratio and this year has been the same, except he's not getting the 80-90 yard games. I think he's had like 3-4 straight seasons with 40-45% catch rate.

I finally traded him & Dunn (I have LT) to another team for Plaxico Burress. The inconsistency was driving me mad. He'd go into the 4th quarter with only 20-25 yards and suddenly get 1 TD to salvage the week.

Yes. I'm still starting him. I've been lucky to move him down to my #3, even though I drafted him in the 3rd round.

I'm holding out hope that he finishes the season similar to last year's.

Yes I'm still starting him, but he has become my WR3 instead of the WR1b I was hoping for when I drafted him early in the 3rd round. Fortunetly TJ been solid and Fitz is healthy again for me.

Since I won't have word on Colston until Sunday, I am forced to use Chambers on Thursday. I'll be happy for 40 yards and a short touchdown. :(

Most weeks I probably wouldn't start him, but I'm starting him in one league because Colston is hurt, and in another league over Lee Evans this week. I'm hoping for another of his typical end of season hot streaks, and that it starts now.

You cut WR26? You must have a heckuva team.

:goodposting: As a #1 or 2 not so good but agree that his risk/reward is so good with the number of targets he is getting that he is an outstanding 3rd WR on a team.

Why would you start Chambers every week waiting for that big game? Harrington's deep ball is one of the ugliest in the league. Chambers is not winning any "hands" contests, so he needs those big plays to be productive.

Honestly, have you guys watched Dolphin's games with Harrington under center? The man cannot hit a spot more than 15 yards down field if his life depended on it. The guy is clearly a case of "you can teach accuracy, but you can't teach arm strength" gone wrong.

Top Ten Reasons to think Chambers could be big this week:

01. He's been getting a ton of targets.

02. Detroit D ranks next to last in pass D.

03. Harrington may desire to throw a lot against his old team.

04. Ronnie Brown's tweaked groin could limit Miami's running plays.

05. Lions without KJ could mean less time with ball, giving Miami more.

06. Chambers' always seems to have a strong end of season.

07. Nationally televised game.

08. The short week and on the road could possibly limit running plays.

09. Watching Roy Williams could be motivating.

10. You can't drop them all, right? Must be aware to concentrate by now.

OK, the last few are a stretch, but I wanted to make it ten total.

11. He's #84 and there's 84 days until March Madness.

12. Lee Evans is #83 and last week he caught two 83 yard TD passes! Sorry, couldn't resist.

Chambers went off for 5rec, 96yards, 3 TDs on Thanksgiving Day 2003 vs Dallas.

Of course I benched him that day following 3 crap games in a row. I swore I'd never make that mistake again. I'm starting Chambers at WR3.

I would have to bench Burress Boldin or Edwards to start Chambers. Normally benching Edwards wouldn't bother me but going against CINN - I gotta start him.

As much as I am dissapointed with Chambers poor and inconsistent play (I do not own him) I agree that this is as good a time as any to spot start him.

I'm still up in the air on this one. I've benched him a few times this year. I'm just trying to figure out if I should go with him, Coles (who's on fire), or Henderson. Good thing I've got CJ and Wayne who have recently made up for Chambers' lack of production. If I bench, him, he'll catch fire. Maybe I'll take one on the chin for the other Chambers owners.
I also have the dilemma between Chambers and Henderson. I mean if I knew Colston was out for sure I'd be starting Henderson but if I don't start Chambers tomorrow and Colston is good to go on Sunday I'm stuck starting Chris Henry or Antonio Bryant.

If I knew Colston was out for sure, I'd still pick Chambers over Henderson this week without a second thought.

I'm starting Chambers. He gets a lot of targets and he's going against a soft D on Thanksgiving. He's been a disappointment overall this year, but he makes for a reasonable WR3.

Traded Chambers, W Dunn and Norwood

For L Maroney, D Gabriel, Devery Henderson and a 2nd rounder a few weeks ago.

Traded Chambers and Marion Barber

For Andre Johnson last week before the trade deadline

To answer your question - No

Yes, I am still starting Chambers as my #3 behind M. Harrison and D. Driver. I have little other options on the bench. I, like a few others, am holding out for that one HUGE game. And being that I'm in a total points league, that one HUGE game is far more valuable then it would be in a head to head league.

All us disappointed owners need to look at last year and hope for a repeat performance by Chambers. Here's a look at his stats last year after 10 games and this year at the same point:

2005 = 39/498/5

2006 = 42/467/4

As you can see the numbers a pretty close. He just needs to go nuts again in the last 6 weeks and we will all be very very happy.

Can you provide us with your entire scoring system and a list of the free agency transactions for your league this year?

Harrington is not even looking for Chambers so far today. Why do I keep starting him every week???
no #### man. he just zeros in on one receiver every play, and it somehow hasnt been chambers once throughout the entire first half. really aggravating.

Geez, is Chambers even out there? The announcers haven't even mentioned him, unless I missed it between conversations with my family.

Harrington throws 90% of his passes over the middle 5-15 yards in front of him. So with Chambers split wide on most plays he has NO chance. But then, miraculoulsy I see Chambers lined up in the slot on 3rd and goal from the five and I'm thinking finaly Chambers is gonna have a chance! Nope, Joey let's the clock go to the 2 minute warning and when they come back out Chambers is split wide. Where does the pass go? Over the middle! TD McMichael. I've gone from hoping Chambers has a breakout day to merely hoping Chambers is involved in the second half. Would any of us Chambers owners NOT settle for 4/62/0 at this point? Didn't think so...pathetic! As with others, I'm not asking for much, just solid #3 WR numbers.

just threw the first pass towards Chambers, but it wasn't even close. He's looked to Chambers first on a few plays and then immediately goes elsewhere.what a joke.

hey another pass to Chambers, this time into the endzone for nada. I guess they don't want to use Chambers as a possession receiver. Why not?

"The entire first half" ended over 4 minutes after your post. In that time Chambers was targeted 3 times (twice in the end zone), but none of them were catchable balls.

So much for Chambers playing more in the slot... Why get the ball to him as a slot receiver when you can get it to Welker instead....

First target of second half bounces five feet in front of him.He hasn't even had a catchable ball yet.
