he is the worst because he will pick out a guy before the game starts that will be his "dynamic playmaker", someone who is guaranteed to eventually be in a play like a LB or a RB, and he will deep throat this dude and never shut up about it for 3 quarters straight and eventually the guy will make an open field tackle/miss and its "SEE I TOLD YA KEEP AN EYE ON THAT GUY!" while gruden or lynch will randomly out of nowhere drop "watch number #98 on this play the defense likes to send him in a stunt on this type of down and distance" and BAM #98 gets a sack on a stunt. complete different level of broadcaster.

also collinsworth had that super creepy pedophile interview he gave back in the day talking about he would walk around the pool hall or bowling alley with $100 bills purposely hanging out of his back jean pocket trying to pick up 15 year olds, he was like 28 at the time.

I honestly think you have this completely backwards. Gruden constantly slobbers over guys only AFTER they do something noteworthy.

Collinsworth more consistently points something out before it happens than anyone else in the industry. Maybe more than everyone else combined. He's constantly saying things like "watch the QB draw here" just before they run a QB draw or "look out for the mismatch in the slot" right before the slot WR catches a 40 yard pass.

Collinsworth gets criticized because he says dumb/obvious stuff sometimes. "They're going to need to score here if they want to have a chance of winning this game" when a team is down 2 scores with 1 minute left. Whatever, I can live with that. On the flipside, he offers by far the best insight of any announcer. He's constantly pointing out stuff that happens away from the play. He constantly sees the little things like on a 6 yard run he'll go crazy over the LG's block, then they'll show the replay with the LG highlighted and watching at home you go "wow, that really was a great block" only he saw it live from 600 feet away in the press box on a semi-meaningless play.

Unlike sooo many other hypocrites and haters, he is at least willing to allow for the possibility that this wasn't that big of an efn deal.

If the balls were submitted at the minimum or slightly below not a big deal; if air was let out after the refs checked them, that's a big deal.

Sadly there is blood in the water for the haters and they want their pound of flesh no matter the truth.
