Chris Cooley Update (1 Viewer)

From RotoWorld:

Redskins coach Jim Zorn says Chris Cooley (ankle surgery) won't be out of his protective boot for another 1-1/2 weeks.

Zorn had no other details, but Cooley's best case scenario is a Week 12 return, and the tight end has indicated that he isn't recovering quickly. Fred Davis, who had just 26 yards in Week 9, will make at least two more starts.

I can't imagine Cooley being in a hurry to get back. With the Redskins every Sunday's a bigger trainwreck than the week before. Ther offensive line has degenerated into jello, and they'd probably use Cooley to block much of the time since Davis sucks at blocking.

Latest update from RotoWorld:

Is anybody still holding him or picking him up off the Waiver Wire?

Redskins coach Jim Zorn said we're still a week away from any news on Chris Cooley (ankle).

Cooley has been a targeting a Week 12 return, but that seems like a best-case scenario at this point. Zorn didn't say Cooley is out of his walking boot, so we're assuming he's still in it. Fred Davis has six catches for 76 yards in two starts since Cooley went down.

This is from Zorn's radio show today. Sounds like if Cooley doesn't hear good news next Monday he'll be placed on IR.

"Hopefully he’ll get out of this boot and he’ll be able to put some pressure on it," Zorn said. "If that does not happen and he has to go another week, I have to look at it and see what I might have to do."

He's a football player. He wants to play, regardless of how the team is doing.

For selfish reasons I wish they IR'd from the beginning

Not that anyone was probably expecting him to be back, but I read that the Skins officially put Cooley on IR.

any chance they threw portis's ### on IR too? I cant wait to cut him
Zorn on Portis:
"He's a guy we want. We want him to participate. We want him to be a Redskin player. Absolutely," Zorn said. "And if he's healthy, he's gonna wanna go. And we're going to want him to go."So, yeah, I think all those things are compelling. Now, we're going to make sure his head's right. But that's why we're talking the precautions we are."
