When he's on the field, this guy has been able to put up some nice #'s. Only problem with him is "when he's on the field".

With the possibility of CJ not being in a Bengal's uniform come 2008, is now the time to get Chris Henry? I know it's early for projections, but what do some of you expect from him? He's someone that could vault into the top 20 if given a starting job I think. If CJ does leave town, it may be too late.

Is he a buy now?

Only so many balls to go around. I like him, and really do think he is past his off field BS. I think his value could be very dependent on whether the Bengals make good on their effort to get a pass catching TE.

Really? This surprises me somewhat. I have not gotten any decent offers for him. What trades has anyone seen with him involved?

You'd be wrong if you think he's expensive. No one wants him. You're better off waiting, at least in my strongest league.

The guy definitely has talent... problem is that owners aren't going to pay for a guy who has been termed "lazy" by Lewis and continuously gets himself in trouble. He's got the talent, always had, just can't seem to put it all together just yet.Essentially a ticking time bomb and needs to be treated like a hot potato - just don't get caught with him when the music stops.

Cheaper now than he will be when he blows up.For example, I just traded for Rodgers the other day and I payed alot more than I would have if I went after him 2 months ago. But even though I didn't get him on the cheap I still got him alot cheaper than his value will be by the end of this year.

Just gave Henry and an 09 1st rounder for Calvin Johnson.

Don't know if that's selling high or low, but I'm very happy with the deal.

Henry shows me inconsistent effort and production. He is a talented receiver, but absent CJ/TJ and drawing attention from a non-nickel corner, I think his flaws will become more evident. A physical corner can move him of his routes and he will shy from contact. He's deadly with a clean release, but struggles to beat a jam. The more he's hit the less he wants the ball. An ideal #3, his production will decrease if he's moved in to a #2 role.

Couple all this with the fact he's one step away from getting Pac-Maned and the risk outweighs the reward.

Seems to be a pretty big disparity in his worth among different people. Some seem to value him quite high while others would't pay 2 nickels for him. I guess it really comes down to the Henry owner in your league.

As others have stated, if you do want to get him, now is the time. He won't be cheaper if he does indeed blow up.

Oh, and treat88, you got an absolute steal of CJ2. That trade boggles my mind.

Really? When he plays, he's dynamite. And in most cases, you know when he's not going to play well before Sunday.

I traded a 2008 3rd and 4th rounder for C.Henry and am pretty excited about it. I plan on holding on to him untill he becomes the #2 there or has a huge couple games and trade him to someone who values him much higher than I do.

The guy has the talent to be a succesful #1 WR in the NFL. Too bad he is a complete headcase.

I don't think there's any way you could consider Henry before 30 WR's are off the board, so I'd say he's in the 35-45 range at best. Sure, he's got top 30 wideout upside. But he also has a peanut brain and odds are against him remaining in the league suspension-free for much longer.

As a Henry dynasty owner (got him for $1 in a cap league), I want to see 85 in the mix in Cincy.

Below is a list. Don't get me wrong -- I like your "outside the box" look at Henry, and I definitely will be checking to see if I can get him cheap in a couple leagues (especially if CJ gets out). However, there are a lot of WRs that I'd take before Henry. Note that although I put Henry at #44, I definitely agree that it gets really tough to rank them when you get above #35 or so. I think I would rather have the WR3 in the Bengals offense than the WR1 or 2 in the Vikings offense -- at least until the Tavaris experiment is over.

To me the guy is the ultimate boom or bust proposition at WR. Everyone knows about the downside. Huge gamble as to whether or not he's out of the league at any point. See Pacman Jones.

As for the upside, its my opinion that there is no other WR that is better positioned as a #3 to jump in to the top 10 WRs. If anything happens to CJ or TJ, he's gold. He's been playing in the system for a few years, and has Palmer as his QB. Plus I think his talent is borderline elite level. I don't think he'd go 1400/8 like CJ. I think he's more likely to put up 1250/12.

The guy has great tracking skills on the deep ball, is 6'4" and is fast enough at 4.5. He's a TD machine waiting to happen. He's played in 35 NFL games (almost all of them as a #3 WR) and has scored 17 TDs. His YPC is 15.4, just slightly above CJs. Every year teams draft big WRs high in the draft, and most of them flop. Henry has shown he's got the skills on the NFL level to be what all those teams were looking for. I seriously think his only problem is getting his act together, because with his talent and situation put together, all he needs is a starting job.

Talent, Yes. Opportunity, Yes. But that's the rub... guys like this almost never get their act together.
