THE NEWS

Chris Henry was not dressed for the start of practice on Thursday, according to the Twitter page of beat writer Joe Reedy. There has not been an update on any injury for Henry at this time.

OUR VIEW

It's hard to tell what's going on here. We haven't heard an injury report on Henry, so you have to wonder if he is dealing with more off-the-field stuff. We will keep you updated when news on his status is released, so stay tuned.

Any Bengals homers out there know what is going on? I hope he didn't do something stupid again.

The only thing hurt is his head!!! Drop the bum!!!

Doesn't appear to be due to anything stupid.

WR Chris Henry was not dressed for the start of practice Thursday. After stretching with his teammates, he moved to the side of the field and watched them run through drills.

With Henry, one never knows, but players do rest sometimes. Sounds like that's all it is.

We're talking about practice. We're talking about practice man. We're talking about practice. We're talking about practice. We're not talking about the game. We're talking about practice. When you come to the arena, and you see me play, you've seen me play right, you've seen me give everything I've got, but we're talking about practice right now.

I'm kind of with him on that. Not sure why. Probably my dislike of starting the season on Thursday and all the :bs: opening day crap they'll do tonight. And doubleheader Monday night too.
There would be so much more excitement starting on Sunday. Thursday games are nice on Thanksgiving. Other than that, forget them. They just screw up the week.

Tell me again how the opportunity to watch an NFL game - on ANY day, let alone the first opener of the season - screws up the week?Manna from heaven, I say. Even on Thursday.

[enter milwaulkee best light can from the sky]

Bengals.com is listing it as a thigh but nobody seems too worried. Marvin is known to let guys take a day off. Seems pretty early for that though. Real thing will be to see if he works tomorrow.

Notes: Henry will play

By C. Trent Rosecrans, CNATI.com Posted September 11, 2009 10:49 AM ET

Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry said he'll be ready for Sunday's game against the Broncos. Henry missed Thursday's practice with a thigh injury, but said it's been a nagging injury he's had throughout the preseason and shouldn't hinder his ability to play in the regular season.

"I'm playing," Henry said. "You can't miss this, it's the opener. I'm doing everything I can do to rehab and be ready for this game."

Henry had touchdowns in each of the four preseason games, catching 14 passes for 224 yards and four touchdowns in the preseason. He said the injury shouldn't slow him on gameday.

"I've been staying on top of it," Henry said. "I'm trying not to let it get too bad."

Henry didn't participate in drills on Thursday, but participated in Friday's practice.

Henry could be the key to the Bengals' offense, adding a dimension with Chad Ochocinco and Laveranues Coles. Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey said Henry was evolved from just a deep threat to a more complete receiver.

"I'm sure he understands more how to run routes and how to get open than he did in the past because back in the day you know when he was coming into the game he was going deep," Bailey said. "Now you really don't know."

Henry said becoming a better all-around receiver has been one of his biggest goals.

"I'm not trying to be known as a guy that just goes deep," Henry said. "I want them to fear me in blocking, short routes, long routes and everything so my game can be more complete."
And this is an injury that was bothering him all preseason. Considering his presason performance, wow.
