Chris Johnson / Lendale White Starting Backfield (1 Viewer)

In one of my leagues last year I rolled for much of the season with Chris Johnson and Lendale White as my two starting RBs. I wasn't alone in this regard, as I do remember several folks on this board who were also doing the same. However, just about anyone who was doing this last season fell into it unexpectedly. Going into the 2008 season, nobody thought this would actually be a viable fantasy backfield.

It seems that Lendale White is falling considerably in rankings/drafts this year which could really represent great value for the CJ owner ie, if you wait on your RB2 and grab White later. As we gear up for the 2009 draft season, I'm curious to know if there are any sharks out there that are specifically targeting/advocating this All-Tennessee starting backfield strategy?

I think White will be a steal this year, especially if you play in leagues with FBG visitors... easy to grab the players overlooked by those easily influenced by the crowd

I'd rather have Williams/Stewart personally. Probably cheaper and more productive.
:) not cheaper. D-Will goes right around, if not before CJ3, Stew will almost certainly be drafted ahead of White. More productive though, so maybe at a cost:production ratio they'll be better.

If the rest of your team becomes unbelievably stacked, then it probably wouldn't be a terrible strategy.

Warner

LBJ

LenDale

Calvin

Marshall

Bowe

Gates

Warner - 6th

LBJ - 1st

LenDale - 7th

Calvin - 2nd

Marshall - 3rd

Bowe - 2nd/3rd

Gates - 2nd
Sure, if you have multiple 2nds. :jawdrop: IF you got CJ3 to fall to the end of the 1st and grabbed Calvin with your early 2nd, you could walk away with:

Warner - 6th

LBJ - 1st

LenDale - 7th

Calvin - 2nd

Marshall - 3rd

TO - 4th

Clark - 5th

Seems like a possible winner.

I don't think LBJ and Calvin will be on many teams together this year as LBJ is a top 7ish pick....and Calvin will not last to pick 18 IMHO

10 team league, LBJ and Calvin would be the top two picks. This is pretty close to what you could actually get according to fbg's ADP.

Calvin at pick 14 is still a big surprise...but possible I guess

It's just as likely LBJ falls a bit. I wouldn't be shocked to see him fall to the 9th spot or so.

I don't like the idea if you can only start 2 backs. But if you can start White as a flex player, then I love the strategy.
