Chris Johnson (1 Viewer)

I know a lot of Chris Johnson owners are worried starting Johnson against Pitt. I know I am.

But here is a great stat for all you Johnson owners. He had 150 yards in the first half again the Ravens last year. Enough said.....

Also, I need to start 2 in a PPR league, give me your thoughts:

Braylon Edwards

Santonio Homles

Anthony Gonzalez

Start Chris Johnson? That's crazy talk.Oh and someone will do this eventually so:

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE SHARK POOLThreads that are asking for advice on how you should draft or manage your team belong in The Assistant Coach forum.

Just so you don't think I am picking on you, I tell everyone to go to the AC Forum with these questions, and your effort to hide this as a WDIS is extremely poor.

If you are going to try and disguise a WDIS please put more effort into it next time.

Braylon & Gonzalez

You know what's an even better stat to look at when evaluating his prospects against the Steelers than how he did against the Ravens? How he did against the Steelers. 16 carries for 69 yards and a TD, 2 catches for one yard. Not great at all, but somewhat reassuring I suppose.. Only .6 below his season average for YPC.I swear, sometimes people try way too hard.

Why would you bench your 1st round pick week 1 in a redraft league? Dynasty teams may have better options but if you have Johnson this week, chances are you start him Steeler defense or no Steeler defense.

exactly this and you also haev to figure he will be even more of a factor in the passing game since ... well ... they don't have any play makers and are more trusting of him

actually it was 100 yards on 12 touches ...11-72-1 and 1-28.

Love ur enthusiasm and true believer in starting studs, but...not a good comparison of 'that game' Raven's D to the 'start of the season' in Pitt w/their D.Good Luck though.

Gotta love all the owners who didn't have Chris Johnson on their team last year......who did nothing but talk crap and hate on him (too small, doesn't get goal line carries, splits carries with White, etc.) who now, after drafting him, gush all over him. Just saying...........................

would rather play pitt in their stadium at the beginning of the year before it turns into a giant mud pitt (see what I did there ;) )

I gotta admit stony, you apparently did a much better job with this WDIS than I originally gave you credit for.

Nice work.

Only thing Chris Johnson has going for him is Heinz field isn't torn to shreds yet. The Steelers D will be jacked tonight, don't expect much.

I'm totally on the fence about starting Johnson tonight. Its either him or Reggie Bush on Sunday against the Lions at home. HELP

Its a 12 team dynasty league, $250 fees, no yahoo league or 2 team league folks. :hifive: Good thing I haven't posted my WR core or you'd REALLY freak.

I'm benching him. For Gore, AP, and MJD. :)
I've never played in a dynasty league-Seeing how lopsided some teams get I think I will continue to avoid joining one.
LMAO. That's why there is high turnover in most dynasty leagues...you always get a few minnows who don't have a friggin clue and they get ### raped by owners like Ripleys. :goodposting:

im not convinced that CJ is unbenchable. if you have a better matchup, say Ray Rice vs. KC at home, why not exploit it.

the way is see it, TD's are hard to predict.

vs. the steelers D, CJ might have 50 yds, or he might break a 50 yder to go with his total. who knows? i think CJ vs. the steelers at home is high risk proposition. and the Tenn. running game didnt exactly light it up in the preseason. will that continue?

i havent made up my mind yet, but im leaning towards Felix or Rice in the league i have CJ in.

Couldn't agree more. Much of fantasy success is doing the homework, assessing risk, and making difficult choices. Isnt that why we love this hobby (or obsession for some)? If it was just a case of plugging in your "studs" each and every week without assessing risk/benefit variables, it wouldnt be nearly as fun. With that said, I'm not sure CJ3 is a "start at all costs" stud like an ADP or Brady or Moss. I drafted CJ as a rookie last year, he's my keeper this year, and I LOVE him. However, I have other RB#2 options - LT is my RB#1 and I also have K. Smith vs NO, and R. Bush vs DET. I'll probably sit CJ tonight. If he gets his, I'll still be happy and know that he's moving into the "can't sit" category. But, weighing all of the risks and benefits, I'd say my money should be on either K. Smith or R. Bush this week. Simply put I think both of them have higher floors and ceilings than CJ does this week. I'm still gonna watch CJ tonite and hope he has a great game.

Edited to say the K. Smith and R. Bush have "HIGHER floors and ceilings"

Totally in the same boat with you as far as Bush goes, and totally agree with you on sitting CJ. Look, I mean if I sit him and he goes off, I'll be mad I talked myself into benching him, but its not as if I was playing against him, like you said, he's still on my team and I will have learned my lesson. Its only his second year, if he proves tonight he can do it on the road, against the Steelers, than I know for the rest of the season I can start him anytime, regardless of an unfavorable matchup.

And sometimes its just dumb luck on a hunch. You live with them in redrafts too but at least it doesn't last for several seasons.

all i need him to get is 70 yards rushing, 30 yards receving and a TD. i think that's doable.

i like to watch my players and i'd rather watch a guy get shut down and have him active than watch a guy go off who is on my bench. so i am playing him.

maybe he's a little extra motivated because it is national tv.

i agree you can bench johnson if you start 2 RBs and have better matchups.

i disagree with whoever said you can't bench the guy you took in the first round in game 1. if this was game 5 would you consider benching him? you draft based on the entire season, not on week 1 matchups.

just my .02.

I AM IN THE SAME BOAT.BENCHING CJ FOR KEVIN SMITH.

I'm not comfortable with it but I'm sitting him for Benson vs. Denver.
:nerd: me too, Benson tore up weak D's last year and the Bengals were 4-0-1 when he had 20+ carries. Enter Palmer to keep D's honest, lookout. and Ray Rice for Chiefs.Still have him going in other leagues, so if he tears it up I'll be happy either way
