Coach Marvin Lewis wouldn't rule out the possibility of Chris Perry (ankle/leg) beginning the season on Cincinnati's active roster.

Perry was at the Bengals' practice facility for the first time in camp on Wednesday. The team could use him after losing Kenny Irons to injured reserve, but Perry is still far from a guarantee to be 100% anytime soon.

I'm in Cincy for a while on a project. I've met someone here that goes to the same physical therapist that Perry does; they usually work out at the same time quite often.

I asked him a few weeks ago what he looked like and he said that he is working out strong, like you would expect an athlete to do.

I haven't asked him recently if he had seen him. The guy isn't much of a football fan and has only commented that Perry is impersonable, so he may not be a real good source. But I'll ask for some more info.

I gave up on Perry a long time ago. A guy in my dynasty league was trying to trade him to me to backup Rudi and kept selling his potential. I figure if the guy can't take the starting role after this long, especially after Dillon left, then he just isn't going to do it there.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him gone if he can't stay productive this year. Just my two cents.

That has been the experience of everyone I've heard thats talked with him. He's apparently not a very friendly guy to the general public, though I'm sure he's probably a pretty frustrated guy after the luck he's had since coming into the league.
