I'm in a must win week.....and now with Taylor down I need some serious help.

I'm thinking this kid is good for atleast 75yds and a TD....what do you guys think?

I have Bush and Foster on the bench.......I was thinking if Colston and Horn are out, Reggie could have a good day maybe 35yds rushing 80 yds receiving.

What do you guys think??? I'm in a win and I'm in scenario....I need this one bad!!!!

Is it definite that he is starting?

I like any RB against the Lions but we'll have to wait until we hear that Chester Taylor is out for sure. Taylor is from from the Detroit area and would love to play in this game. This may be the dreaded GTD.

He is listed as doubtful....but I guess I jumped the gun!

I think He's quick, but I haven't seen him on tape in the NFL.

Liked him as a Gator though! GO GATORS BABY!

Seriously, he can catch the ball well too. But you just never know how these Vikings-Lions games are going to go. I'm trusting Joe.

I picked him up and I'm starting him this week in the playoffs in one league. But that league is ultra deep (start 3 Rbs w/12 teams - Rosters of 20). Hope that helps.

By the Way - If a school that wins a national championship in basketball is a basketball school and a school that wins the national championship in football is a football school, what do you call a school that wins both inside a year?

I would like to call them lucky (since I went to UCLA).....BUT...that is some serious domination!

:hey: Ooh! I know! Ohio State (assuming you believe the Greg Oden hype)

Floridas basketball team won a national championship in 2006... it'll be 2007 before the football team gets a shot... so I'm not counting it.

mostly because I went to Ohio State, and as previously mentioned, they have a shot at it this year. Oden, by the way, is the real deal.

 If they win, they'll be the 2006 BCS Champs. Count it or not. It's for the 2006 season.

On probation?

Im not trying to disrespect Ohio State in any way. I think the coach and the players have been nothing but classy (Unlike Michigan). Oden may be great. Just saying, if it happens, within 12 months is pretty impressive. And there is still a chance the Basketball team can repeat - everyone came back and the freshman class is awsome.

Quick Note: I think no one in the country recognizes what the Gators have been doing on special teams. Excluding the kicker, I think they have, by far, the best special teams in the country (and I'll throw all the NFL Special Teams in that mix also). They gameplan ST like no other.

And Fason is still quick and catches well - sorry to Hijack. :)

put down the blue-orange-green goggles.

michigan has handled this with nothing but class, however the florida coach was the one squealling like a school girl, begging the voters to vote for his team, because he "flet he had too". now maybe you ment michigan fans - that i will believe, but the university and coach carr have handled this with nothing but class.

OSU will wipe the floor with florida. at least the basketball team earned it, the football team won an election.

just my to cents

sorry to hi-jack the thread.

im starting fason instead of dunn if he plays. the lions defense is a sive, shaun rogers was put on ir this week.

It sounds like Fason would get short yardage, which I think would be of consideration if scoring tds is a heavy factor, because there should be some action inside the Lions' 5 this week.

Both Big Ten teams had propped their "strength of schedule" argument on ND - who every good program that played them has beaten now. Had ND not started the year at #3 or something close they would likely be out of the polls by now.The Big Ten has 5 winning team out of 11. The SEC has 3 losing teams out of 12.

Michigan has lost to Ohio state how many years in a row now?

There are so many other reasons why the Gators should be in the game also and why Michigan should not. I could list them, but I just don't have the time.

And, by the way, Coach Carr didn't want to make it a PUBLIC debate. But if you think for a second that Michigan boosters weren't doing whatever they could privately your sadly mistaken. Politics are for backrooms. Debate is done in public. That is how Coach Tressel knew he was the deciding vote and why he didn't vote.

The classless thing is crying about it after the fact (as Both Carr and the Michigan players have been doing) instead of conceding that they HAD THEIR CHANCE and respecting the fact that by any measure Florida BELONGS in the game. God knows thay had done enough of that behind closed doors before the vote.

Personally, after living in Chicago for so long, nothing would have made me happier than for the Gators to have gotten the chance to play Michigan for the National Championship. Because the Michigan fans, the coach, and the team are generally so conceded and obnoxious, that over the years I have grown to really dislike their program and the school (I apologize if you are some of the exceptions, but if you are you know what I'm talking about).

Unfortuanely, just like the Gator basketball team, no one is going to give this team any credit unless they beat OSU. Remember I said this though - OSU will lose this game on special teams. Feel free to bump this after the game also.

And then Michigan fans like you can go back to doing what they do best - hyping next years team.

I apologize to the cool Michigan fans - but its the bores like this guy that give your school a bad name.

Peace-

i think the only reason florida is in the championship game is because the BCS is wacked. they won their conference. michigan did not. although the big 10 doesnt have a championship game. my point is that i do not like that your coach felt it necessary to campain the way he did. apparently he felt it necessary to influene the voters. i think that he was successful and voters voted on not wanting to see a rematch, veresus who they thought was the #2 team in the country. because the week before they felt michigan was a better team than florida. this cannot be disputed.

if USC had won, michigan would still be #3 and playing LSU not florida in the rose bowl.

i like to think im not one of those MI fans, but who knows how years of being the winningest team in NCAA history affects someone

could you spell check this for me, im a michigan grad and rely on florida people to do that kind of stuff for me.

regarding SOS - at least michigan did not play a division II school. classy.

One of the more ignorant posts I have ever read on this board. Your points are completely irrelevant.

What is your point with ND? It makes no sense. "Who every good program that played them has beaten now" - disregarding the second grade english, two teams beat them. One happens to be the team everyone's debating about going to National Championship game, and the other one was the leading contender until last week.

What does it matter how many times OSU has beaten UM in previous years? We are talking about this year. When OSU won the National Title in 2002 UM had beaten them 5 of the last 7 years. Do you think anyone cared about that?

Also, who cares about what conference had more winning teams. Strength of schedule is what matters, not how the lesser teams of the conference fared against Central Youngstown Valley State University.

The biggest joke is the fact that you think you can comment on the secret goings-on of the boosters. I'd like to know how you're such an authority on the matter. How can you comment on what the UM boosters were doing and not make any mention of Florida boosters. Fact is, you have no idea either way.

Where is your source that Carr and the players are whining? Do you hang out with members of the Michigan football program? I think your most likey source is a couple UM fans that you know were acting out and you decided to generalize that everyone was acting that way.

The fact is, Carr has treated the situation with complete class. All he did was say that whatever happens - there will be controversy. Unlike Urban Meyer, who was screaming for a revamping of the system immediately before he was rewarded by it, after which he backed off the statement. Also when asked if he would spearhead change to the system since he has been so outspoken about it the past two weeks, Urban said "No, I will not. I am too busy coaching Florida." Way to stand up for your supposed principles. REAL class.

And for everyone who says UM had their chance, that argument is completely facetious. The fact is, college football does have a playoff system. It just happens to involve only two teams playing in neutral ground. Theoretically, those are supposed to be the two best teams in the country. Unfortunately, when there is human involvment logic doesn't always win.

I'd like to hear your "many other reasons" that Florida should be in the game. You've already betrayed yourself by saying how much you dislike the Michigan program. So, clearly your comments will all be emotionally charged - which means I really don't consider them worthy of much contemplation but I certainly do enjoy a good laugh.

By the way:

teams, you're, they, conceited, unfortunately, it's, gives

If you're going to be a pedantic jerk, at least try to hold yourself to the same standards that you judge others by.

Uhh, oh yea, start Fason if he's playing. He looked good against Chicago last week!

If Chester's questionable or worse tomorrow, or if you can wait till Sunday to see if Chester is inactive, start Fason if you've got him and don't have a top 20 back to put in ahead of him.

I cant think of a reason why Fason won't have a big game... The offensive line is finally gelling and opening up nice holes and this defense is hardly difficult to get chunks of yardage against... If taylor is ruled out I am expecting a big week... 100+ and a td

I would normally be higher on Faison, but with the passing game in such shambles I think the Lions "D" will focus on stopping the running game and let Brad Johnson stop the passing game by himself.

As for the Michigan/Florida debate. I think most football fans have an opinion, but this is not the thread in which to discuss them. There is a free for all forum begging to dissect this controversy.

Cheers.

(Go OSU!)

Agreed. I just lost my cool there. GO GATORS!PS I see Fason going for over 80 yards and a TD. I really like this matchup - especially with all the down talk coming out of Detroit (read some of the quotes from Kitna and Roy Williams). But, having said that, whether they are actually laying in the weeds waiting, we'll see.I think the O-line for the Vikings should beat up the D Line of the Lions though. That should be good for Fason.

I watched Fason during his time at Florida and I would compare him to Chris Brown more than anybody. He had been more of an upright runner, but during his senior year he showed improved strength and started plowing through people on his way to some 70 yard runs. He won't kill with his speed in the NFL. I can just imagine him running through the lanes the O-line creates. If they succeed, he will too. Think Ladell Betts on this one. He won't be a star, but can become a starting back.

i picked him up in every league...going to be a huge week for him...

:fishing: Do you really want me to respond?I lost my cool and blurted out what was on my mind. Didn't mean to attack anyone. Thats not usually like me. Michigan fans have worn on me over the past 10 years or so, especially the way they disrespect anyone that is not from Michigan.Personally, I loved Michigan when Bo was there. Thats when the concept of "Michigan Men" was in vogue. Michigan has lost some of what used to make that university great. Over the years the condescension has become nauseating. That was the first time I have EVER corrected somebody's spelling on this board. In fact, it was the first time I ever made a personal attack. For that, I apologize.I stand by what I saiid and I'm entitled to my own opinion. And I don't feel any obligation to explain why I feel the way I do.I have nothing but respect for people on this board and I'll leave it at that.Peace-HSPS The ND reference was in regard to strength of schedule. NDs loss to USC (and USCs subsequent loss to UCLA) affected Michigan's SOS score. That was part of the reason for Michigans drop. That was all I was trying to say.ETA This has been a rough couple of days with my parents in the hospital - everyone is allowed an off day. Ill stand by my record on contributions here and I will continue to stand by my claim that the Gator ST will be the difference in this game. And if you read carefully, I didn't attack anyone until I was attacked first.

So to summarize this thread at this point:

1) Is Fason a good play as long as Taylor is out?

2) Maybe

3) Florida sucks and Michigan rules

4) nope and nope.

Did I miss anything?
