Cincinnati Bengals vs. Buffalo Bills

Friday August 18 2006. 7:00 e.t.

Ralph Wilson Stadium. Orchard Park, N.Y.

With Carson Palmer’s status for the Bengals preseason games in doubt, many sports betting fans might be scared of taking the Bengals. However, Buffalo’s defense is atrocious, giving up 343.5 yards per game in 2005. It wouldn’t matter if it were Carson Palmer or Carson Daly playing QB – anybody can move the ball against the Bills. The Bengals will be solid favorites over the Bills in the Sportsbook odds.

Bills breakdown (updated thru August 8)

• The offense still has a lot of holes which is why they're down so low.

• The Buffalo Bills released linebacker Jeff Posey on Monday after the eight-year veteran lost his starting job to Angelo Crowell.

• The Bills signed FB Alan Ricard, the lead blocker for Jamal Lewis in Baltimore during his 2,066-yard rushing season in 2003, primarily to give veteran Daimon Shelton a nudge.

Bengals breakdown (updated thru August 8)

• Bengals guard Eric Steinbach was arrested and charged with boating under the influence on the Ohio River, becoming the fifth Cincinnati player in three months accused of breaking the law.

• Bengals training camp has reached the midpoint of its two-week stay at Georgetown College

• One of the Benglas goals is to help the three-time Pro Bowl player, Sam Adams, get ready to play in the opener Sept. 10 at Kansas City.

Keep your eyes on Chris Henry again, he was looking good in the first preseason game.

Anyone know the status of Chris Perry? Will he be playing tonight?

FWIW, everything Ive been hearing is hes fixing to go on the PUP. No link.

Bengals.com confirmed that RB Chris Perry (ankle) will not play in the team's second preseason game at Buffalo. There is no timetable for his return.

(Updated 08/16/2006).

FANTASY ANALYSIS

J. Joseph made a nice stops for the Bengals to force a punt.

Wright almost throws a pick on the 1st play of the series...it was a risky throw into double coverage.

A-Train seems to be taking this series for Willis...and JP nearly made a nice completion to Josh Reed...however it was slightly under-thrown and hit the ground.

JP follows it up with a pass to Parrish's feet...he was under some pressure, but it was still a very poor throw.

BUF did pull off a very nice punt coverage to pin the Bengals deep.

Moorman rules!
Yep...Bengals were stuck bad...3 and a punt...almost a safety via holding in the endzone, but it was ruled outside the EZ.URGH...my ISP went out...Thus, these are random notes while I can't post.Losman has been under-throwing alot...it could be the mild rain, but I don't think that excuse has legs. He is just not getting the ball to his targets. Surprised? WOO HOO...I'm back up.On the whole, excpet for a few plays, it was a boring 1st quarter for both teams.

I heard it was more of a heavy rain... ?
AS far as I can tell from the TV screen, it has not looked bad at all. A. Wright is making some very nice accurate passes right now. And Q. Wilson is making some nice powerful runs for the Bengals. EH...well, that last one will be called baclk for holding.

Wilson just lost 7, but he was facing 2 DB in the back field...it was not his fault.

A. Wright then makes a nice roll out to the right and places it perfectly to Chad in the corner of the endzone....9-10 yards.

Bengals looked solid on this drive except for the loss by Wilson...the Bills just read it perfectly on that play.

WOW...JP just made one of the worst throws I have seen from him. He was under a little pressure, but tossed the ball right to the Bengal DB for an easy TD. It looked like a panic move to me.

Cincy sure hasn't lost their ability to force turnovers....and return them for TDs.
True. Also guys, I must say that I am not a great writer when it comes to describing the play. However, since we have so few here who are actually seeing the game live, I am just trying to put a few comments on what I see. You should probably go to NFL.com to get stat details.Usually, I let the pros here do the play-by-play. :D

WOW!!! Just when I was ready to bury JP, he throws a PERFECT pass to Lee Evans for a LONG TD...40+ yards.

He could not have done it better...however, Evan had great seperation...anything less would have been a real F-Up by JP.
