Hi,

As a Rudi owner (before the @#@# hit the fan), would you please provide updates on the running game if you could. Thanks.

Not sure, I haven't been able to find a stream of the game, so am just watching the gamecenter on nfl.com. So far:

C. Perry 9 20

K. Watson 6 10

Even if it's with their 2nd unit it's against 2nd, 3rd etc. unit defenders and you would think Perry and Watson would be at least somewhat more effective :pickle:

CBS SPORTSLINE News: Bengals RB Rudi Johnson has still not played in the preseason for Cincinnati as he missed Thursday's finale against the Colts with hamstring issues. The only problem is, Johnson was supposed to play Thursday. After hearing a report that the Bengals were interested in trading him for a receiver, Johnson called his agent and had an inkling that he would be moving on. "I could be gone any minute now," Johnson said after Tuesday's practice. "I'm just waiting on the call, looking at the clock. That's all. So you know, it is what it is. Nothing's surprising. It's always something every year. They've been trying to get me out of here for a long time now. So it's not surprising at all."

Not good tonight was suppose to be Rudy's big chance

I wish there was some news on what's up with Rudi. Surely it isn't the injury if he was "supposed" to play tonight?

Possibility: Rudi to be traded

Conspiracy theory: Rudi is actually the starter in Cinci, but they have been saving him all preseason? :lmao:

c. perry was running behind the 2nd o-line maybe there just wasnt any holes?
Plausible, I guess, but Perry isn't able to make anything happen on his own against backup defenders? I'm not saying he can't come out and have a good season, but I am not optimistic at this point, especially since Cinci's starting OL hasn't exactly been getting rave reviews this year.

Sure, but the Cinci QBs have been a combined 11/17 for 94 and 1 TD and Fitzpatrick has been 4 for 35 running the ball. Maybe they should start him at RB to start the season? :lmao:

I'm just curious as to why they'd be running Perry and/or Watson in the 4th game of the preseason if those guys are a big part of their regular season plans. Especially considering Perry's injury history. Especially if they're throwing them out there behind the 2nd or 3rd string offensive line.

Do they really need the work? Does the coaching staff still not know enough about these guys?

Something seems off here.

The Bengals braintrust is short on brains and long on trust - and unfortunately, their fans have been bitten by this on both ends.

Rudi Johnson not playing in preseason finale

According to Bengals beat writer Mark Curnutte, Rudi Johnson is not playing in Thursday's final preseason game against the Colts.

Coach Marvin Lewis stated that he wanted to see Rudi play before deciding if he could regain his old job, but he may have sealed his fate with yesterday's rant. If the Bengals can't trade him, it's possible that Rudi could be part of Saturday's cuts. Chris Perry finished with 20 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Aug. 28 - 8:47 pm et

Rudy is done, I don't know if any team will pick him up, maybe Houston?

How does a guy under 30 crash and burn so fast ?????He was a top 10 fantasy rb 2 years ago...i dont get it

I think some gamesmanship may also be at play here.

I'm pretty sure an injured player cannot be released. So if Rudy played he could be pronounced healthy and released with no strings attached. But if he's released while injured, he would be do a settlement.

Does ths sound right to anyone else?

He was never a speed guy. Or even a big power guy.He was an effort guy. His effort has slipped.

Rudi Johnson, reportedly on the trading block as the Bengals look for additional help at the injury-rich receiver position, was supposed to play but did not. He was in uniform on the sideline but did not enter the game. He did not play in the preseason because of a hamstring injury.

Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh did not play, either. He missed the entire preseason with a hamstring problem, though he, like Johnson, did practice Monday and Tuesday. Houshmandzadeh was in uniform on the sideline after warming up before the game.

I would assume to get him reps. He's not had many since the injuries, and they want to continue to see what they are going into the season with. They want to see that he can handle a legitimate amount of carries. I think it makes a lot of sense.

I think this maybe true. Didn't Bettis admit to doing this one year?

This makes more sense than anything else I have read in this thread.
