CJ Anderson (4 Viewers)

No ACL tear for Anderson, per Schefter. No confirmation on if there is any injury beyond a bone bruise, or if a bone bruise is even the actual injury, but it sounds like, as some of y'all stated, that the real concern was a ligament injury. It sounds like we should get an updated timeline later today.

I think this may be Schefter taking something out of context (not purposefully -- but based on what he was told being out of context). I heard Dr. Mark Adickes say on the SiriusXM Fantasy morning show that any time the ACL tears, whether fully or partially, it creates a bone bruise.  He said CJA's injury being described as a bone bruise, and the fact that CJA went back out and played effectively, told him that there was a partial tear of the ACL, but the question was to what extent or whether he could keep playing.

So Adickes felt they weren't necessarily out of the woods just yet... and that likely was what the 2nd opinion was for.

But now CJA just tweeted "False" to a quoted version Rapsheet's tweet....  So *shrug*
Maybe I only have selective vision but it seems like Rapoport has been burned a good amount recently, especially when it comes to injuries. Wasn't he the one who said early word on Geno Smith was that he would be fine?

Sounds like CJA covering as if this info wasn't supposed to come out yet.
Anderson has since deleted both tweets in response to Rapoport's report. What a clustermug, but it makes me even more doubtful about anything we hear until an official report comes out later today.

Healthy skepticism is always a good thing. Pretty telling that CJA deleted those tweets though...

But I get it. If I were him, I'd feel a little violated too. Season-ending injury and you're just trying to come to terms with this recent blow and some ####### reporter tweets to the world what you just found out yourself? Sucks...

He's gotta be done. The "bounce back" tweet does not make sense if you are talking couple week injury.

I don't really get what CJ gains from denying it for a day?

Schefter reports the Broncos are expected to update Anderson's status today. He is still expected to miss a few weeks with a bone bruise, but this report suggests he has avoided a season-ending injury. Devontae Booker will be the workhorse while Anderson is sidelined. The rookie is a top-five option at running back this week.

CJA also tweeted this AM that the report of his being done for 16 was "false".

Bone bruise rarely season ending but will likely cost him a few weeks.

If Booker is indeed Elway's guy AND he looks good in the next few weeks, think they trade CJA in the offseason or keep him in RBBC with that contract?

Not sure what's happening.  NFL mobile sent an alert that he is done for the year, but maybe they were fooled too?
Probably because the NFL.com home page has a giant red breaking news banner that reads "CJ Anderson out for rest of the season" but when you click on that link it's basically just using Rapoport's tweet as its source.

Makes me feel better about my original diagnosis... I still think there is more to this than a bone bruise and ACL makes complete sense. Especially a partial tear. It almost makes too much sense; do we need to operate on the ACL or is the tear small stable enough that rest will be okay.

I still think he's done for the year... I'll stand by that for now.

I'm pretty sure CJA's contract is front-loaded, so he's pretty cheap by RB standards I believe.  I guess it could depend on what Bibbs shows as the Booker back-up, and maybe even on the draft next year.  The Broncos can save a little $$ by moving on from CJA, and maybe someone would trade a solid pick for him, but I don't think they'll feel compelled to cut him due to the salary.

I'm sure the team didn't want him letting the info out any earlier then necessary.  He only told friends but didn't think it would get out.  Once it did now the team is pissed at him.

The team might want him on ir so they can cheat the salary cap so they want to lie about his injury and anderson is like no #### you.

I can't recall ever seeing such a s***show surrounding a player's injury status. No matter how you slice it, you own CJ and not Booker (my boat unfortunately) you're screwed.

Someone just dropped him in my league. I'm the Booker owner so i picked up and will hold until more details come out.
I remember this happening to another RB not long ago... news he was out for the season broke and people dropped but it turned out to only be 4 weeks. Might have been AP. Did he have an MCL tear not long ago?

Really? It feels like this has become the norm in this Scoop Jackson/Twittersphere world of reporting. Apparently it is a hundred times more important to be FIRST versus ACCURATE. No worries over credibility anymore... it simply does not matter.

And from the polar opposite of Scoop Jackson - FFCHamps is recommending to add Devontae Booker to your roster. Good stuff.

It's been a day... Abdullah went to go see a foot specialist on Wednesday, and we found out Friday I think he was done for the season. I guess I don't understand where you're "s*** show" reference is coming from. Because of social media postings being conflicting? Where have you been lately?
Secondly, if you don't own a handcuff and you're starter goes down, then yeah you're screwed in every case. Just ask Doug Martin, AP, and Foster owners.

C.J. Anderson undergoing surgery today to repair torn meniscus in right knee. Likely headed to IR. #9sports

12:31 PM - 27 Oct 2016
That makes no sense based on the mechanism of injury. Meniscus. But, if it's true, it still makes no sense... meniscus surgery would only hold him out for about 4 weeks. James Starks had his meniscus operated on. He is coming back soon. If it were a meniscus repair, yes he is done. Meniscectomy, no.

Yeah I am referring to all the conflicting alerts that have come across my phone for the last 24 hrs

The CYA is "likely" in his... reporting? I agree. "Likely" headed to IR, but maybe not... in fact probably not, he really doesn't know. But he was first to report it!

Everyone is trying to be first. Reporting whatever. We will find out once and for all later today I'm guessing. If J Thompson is activated then you know CJ is headed to IR.

I stand by my IR prediction

I guess meniscus could be a factor... it usually is injured with a twisting motion to be honest. It would be a pure freak thing for him to tear it making a cut.

There are many varieties of meniscus tears, aren't there?  Jahlil Okafor was expected to be out 6 weeks and ended up being much more (though partially the team could be uber-cautious.)

@RapSheet: With his final test wrapped up, #Broncos RB CJ Anderson will have an arthroscopic procedure on his knee today, source said. Headed to IR.
