So hard to tell from college highlights. Reggie Bush had a fantastic highlight reel coming out of USC. Chris Johnson had an unbelievable highlight reel coming out of ECU.
Electric player, I have come away really impressed with his speed and pass catching ability.
I think the one huge question for Spiller, though, is whether he can block at all. He was almost never asked to pass protect in Clemson.
But that aside, I think he is very underrated heading into the draft. Perfect running back in today's NFL. He can break an 80 yarder off at any time, and he has elite pass catching skills from the running back position.
Why is every elusive back that comes into the draft now compared to Bush. Then you have the debate if he's more Johnson then Bush. I'll say this, I watched Bush in college (from socal), I watched Johnson when he was a backup / scatback for ECU and have followed Spiller since his freshmen year. I personally would put Spiller #1 as far as natural RB talent goes. He has off the charts natural talent when the ball is in his hands. Whether or not that translates to the NFL is yet to be seen but I really do believe he'll continue to be special in the NFL.
