I better still get my gems once I finish the grind to champs.
Seriously. This grind is taking me weeks due to my own incompetence and if I don't get the 2k gems when I get there, I will be very displeased.
If you have a waterproof phone get in a pool and just snipe all day. Telling you the weekend is for snipes. Went from CR2 to M2 on snipes last weekend. Barely dropped anything but a bk and maybe a skull or two to clear trapped ths.

Getting to masters1 has been a breeze. The snipes sure dried up once I hit about 3100 and the few I do get are only worth 1 trophy. Think the sweet spot is masters2 for snipes.

 
I think you see fbgs use laloon because, and most every pro youtuber agrees, laloon is the most friendly 3 star strat to use until you get monster heroes.
Right and every pro youtuber agrees on that because it's an over-powered attack. Hence, the nerfs.
Yep. Looks like we all agree on that one.
At the end of the day the only way you collect a 3 star in this game on a decent base is

-Kill the queen

-kill the cc

-Use defensive targeting units (skulls/hogs/golems) to kill the dps

-Have enough troops left at the end to clear the last buildings inside of 3 minutes

I think what some are missing is this 2nd sweeper isn't just a nerf to laloon, it's a nerf to any 3 star raid. It's going to dramatically change base design (eventually, like in 3 months or more so bear with this) It's just one more step forward from SC to forcing people to gem heroes.

What's funny is that in their comments they say they added this sweeper to counter the L5 dragon. That's what is such a joke. It's obvious they don't play the game, or else they just want to troll people.

It's funny that they also at the same time are nerfing infernos and possibly xbows as well. So the other thing they are buffing is the X.5 strat. Less incentive to build out those big defense towers and just push labs while pushing heroes.

Well I was mostly sniping not to get cups but to just get free de. I'll make note of the cups available when i go on a snipe spree later today.

I got really close to crossing the M1 boundary basically without trying and found two monsters i went on a core dive and failed.

Just to mark at 2863 now.

Pulled a fantastic move this morning. About 50 trophies away and go to hit next vs a max TH10. oops, dropped a barb. -35 trophies.
I've done that. It's been a comedy of errors. I was up to 3144 at one point and then I lost 5 attacks in a row as I increasingly lost my composure.

No idea, most everyone in high leagues are mods/bots from what I can tell. It's a trap?
I would assume the first couple of people over 5000 will all keep their THs out and snipe each other all day for mad loot bonus
My worry is that they decrease the Champ's loot bonus. I didn't realize until I got here, how viable Champs is for farming. By that I mean, you don't get flattened every time you log off, 98% of the time you get free shields from exposed TH just like in master's. (I say that as someone 6 months into TH10, which may be an important factor. AQ level is not important, mine has been mostly asleep). The widening of the matchmake algorithm plus the loot bonus make it the most lucrative territory I've found, as someone who does far more single attacks than 2h boost sessions.

Regarding the dragons, I was sure dragon 4 would be my last ever lab upgrade. My lab opens up tonight, and now I might just grind another 2mil elixir to start drag 4 (instead of barb 7). At the very least, it would give Honda a second source for L5 drag donations (only Kevvy has L4).

Most everyone at the upper level of trophies gems army's and spells like crazy. You can only be online 6 hours and it takes 4 to cook 5 spells. All the bases up there are maxed so you need all 5.

Seems to me just a way for them to make a new goal (5000 trophies) and all kinds of people dropping gems to get there

 
New leagues was absolutely desired by very high-level players. This update is looking superb already.

Low end th9 can kill low end queens without a shatter and can pent hound bases again.

Scott probably is heading to church to thank baby Jesus right now.

Quake sets off traps and or breaks walls

Haste is like a go here rendezvous spell

In the videos posted the poison spells crushed CC minions and barbarians in a matter of secondsThis is going to lead to more CC requests for troops with higher HP - Dragons, Valks, etc - golems and pekkas even. To accomodate more people will have to be donating these higher HP troops.

Quake sets off traps and or breaks walls Haste is like a go here rendezvous spell
Those two sound like complete gamechangers.

The current top players have multiple high-level accounts and gem like crazy. The 5000 mark isn't possible for the regular player right now. Of course, two years ago, 3200 wasn't either. It now is, so 5k might be similar in 2017.

They also mod like crazy and soft shield. The average player in a war oriented clan can't possibly keep up.

Completely agree now.

But the scene will be different in two years - just as it was different two years ago.

By 2017, legends league players may be able to rise 1000 trophies in one month. Casual players may be able to easily get to that level.

Yes. Once more people are at the level, they should start seeing more reasonable trophy offerings.

 
With new DE spells, It'll be interesting to see how much DE people are willing to invest in war attacks going forward. War is almost a break even proposition from a DE perspective for me...not sure I want to get into the business of taking a DE loss on wars. And I'm in Honda where we win the vast majority of wars.

Poison looks pretty useless other than for CC killing but even then it doesn't look to do much and you'll never went to bring more than 1.If earthquake sets of traps, that'll be awesome for hogging but you'll still likely only take 1.

Not sure about haste...

Depends on how many spells it takes to take down a queen. A deep weak queen on a max th9 can now be very vulnerable if those spells are strong enough

Most war de surplus for me comes from farm wars. I mean a typical attack is about 2500 de or so and a win usually nets 5400-6000. With donations even wars at high levels are losers on de.

From the video, it looked like you'd need at least 5 max poisons to take down a low level AQ. Doesn't look like an option IMO.Eta: video showed 7 max poison to take down an L10 AQ.
