Cleaning dried gasoline off driveway (1 Viewer)

I had a vehicle parked on my driveway that somehow ended up with a hole in their tank and now i have dried gasoline (heatwave helped it dry) in my driveway. There was some on street too, but fire dept cleaned that (wouldn't do driveway because it is private property)

What can i do to remove the stain and smell?

Light it?
Only thing I thought of, as long as it’s not super close to the house and you have a hose standing by just in case. That said, if it’s dry, I don’t even know if it would ignite. I guess if it still smells there has to be something to burn.

Probably leave a big black mark though, and not sure how easily that would come up.

Pavers, Blacktop or concrete?

Try cat litter - if that don't work try the miracle soap - Blue Dawn.

If they're pavers you will most likely have to replace them

Cat litter won't do much if it's totally dry. Dawn emulsifies it but you still have to clean up the leftover yuck.

Water may help to lift it - use a hose or wait until after a rain and you should see a rainbow puddle because the gas is lighter than water and will float off of it. Then try the kitty litter/Dawn.

I am not a driveway doctor and this is not driveway medical advice.

I might pitch this premise/show title to HGTV. The guy dresses in scrubs and drives around in an out of service ambulance. He brings his black bag filled with the tools of his trade to situations like the OP has. :moneybag:

Car Litter

Cat Litter

or Make a paste of either baking soda and a bit of water or dry laundry detergent and water.  spread paste over spill and scrub in with a brush.  leave for several hoors.  scrape off and hose or power wash away.  wa la
