Cleaning up the MFL FA pool (1 Viewer)

MFL FA pool.

If you rush to the MFL Free agent pool, you can pick up some old world gems....

Gary Anderson K - 50 yrs old, out of the league for 5 years.

Rod Smith

Drew Bledsoe

Marshall Faulk

Doug Flutie

There are some other "blasts from the past" in there. I think I saw Otto Graham and Sid Luckman.

I understand keeping some recent free agents in case they latch on to another team, but I think

MFL could do a little house cleaning of the free agent pool.

Are you kidding? If I missed the playoffs, or if I was essentially eliminated and it was an all-play league, I would totally submit a starting lineup of Flutie/Faulk/Rod/Anderson in the consolation games. :)

MFL all-retired team:

QB: Doug Flutie (2005)

RB: Marshall Faulk (2006)

RB: Mike Alstott (2006)

WR: Rod Smith (2006)

WR: Keyshawn Johnson (2006)

WR: David Givens (2006)

TE: Jermaine Wiggins (2006)

K: Gary Anderson (2004)

Flex: Stephen Davis (2006)

Honorable mention: Corey Dillon, Travis Henry, Drew Bledsoe, Jake Plummer.

That's actually an awesome team. I'd substitute Bledsoe or Plummer for Flutie and every week make posts on the message board as if it were 2006 (i.e. before week 12 post "man, I'm sure glad I drafted Bledsoe as my QB2 since it looks like the Broncos are going to bench Plummer and see what they have in Cutler this week").

Pat Tillman is also still in the FA pool. One owner in my favorite league has kept him on his roster since he died.

Just because they're in your league's free agent pool doesn't mean thay're not on a roster in some other league. To remove them from your league's free agent pool, they'd likely have to remove them from rosters in another league.I would not be shocked at all if Gary Anderson lives to kick another day.

You make a good point. Some of these players who have been retired for 4-5 years are on some rosters. If these players are eliminated from the system, it would merely create an open roster spot for the teams that owned them.I view this more of a solution than a problem.

I was thinking of rolling out K Jose Cortez. His matchup is prime this week. Then I noticed he is not in the database after last year.

No way I'd start Alstott over Dillon. In a few years maybe, but not yet.
