Cleveland at New England (2 Viewers)

Everyone is making the PI call out to sound like a make or break call for the pats. Sure this is all hypothetical, but with the field position, time left, and momentum, I'm pretty sure they were going to score either way. Like I said earlier in this topic, this doesn't justify the call, I just think the call expedited the inevitable.

On another note, I didn't expect the patriots to be able to blow out the browns like most did. Throughout the whole season I've thought the entire AFC north is extremely underrated, even the Browns.
Top 5 defense I believe and the 2nd best WR in the league.
Exactly, I think the inability to establish a QB who can stay healthy has hurt them a lot. The Browns record doesn't give a good representation of their team at all.

IMO, it looked like the DB rode the WR off the line of scrimmage for 10 yards, extending his arm and pushing off on Boyce's shoulder. There isn't a replay where you can see the ball in the air and where the DB has his hands on Boyce's shoulder pads, so it's hard to tell if it was defensive holding or PI (if they were going to throw a flag). I didn't see anything flag worthy in the end zone, but before then it looked like they had a better case to call a penalty.

We saw how the Patriots 'won' that game.

Patriot apologizers actually think that was a good heart win, lol.

If that is how the Pats have been winning then its no wonder why people have accused them of cheating because they definitely cheated to win the game against the Browns today.

How did the Patriots cheat to win this game?

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize what you were saying before.

The Patriots cheated. And the game was fixed, by the mob.

So then what you're saying is that during the half-time break, Belichick called up his mafia buddies and asked for some help. The mafia, eager to help out a friend as they always are, get in touch with the refs and ask them for a phantom PI call in the last moments of the game, which of course everyone knew would end up being close.

I'm sure they also had a hand in the on-sides kick. Maybe some of the Browns players in the front line have family in the mob, or maybe it was a remote controlled ball. I don't know.

But thanks, all starting to make sense now.

Yeah, let me get down on my hands and knee and kiss your ### because your Patriots won. Doesn't matter how they won, http://CLASSY PI call for the good-heart win. they won so it was a good heart win and Patriots fans are class acts like you.

Any word on to what extent the CIA or Fidel Castro was involved in this game?
Class act. Cheat then troll.
As opposed to saying (seriously) that the mob fixed a Browns game and then getting all butthurt when you're called a moron.
Nobody wants to see Gronk hurt like that.

I don't want that injury to cost them any wins but they don't deserve by getting BS calls like they did today.

Leave the classless posts to PatsWin.

So are we not talking about how the mob fixed the game anymore?

The game was fixed.

You want to keep going?

This is your game?

CLASSY.

Lifetime Pats fan here. There is no way that was pass interference. The ref's blew the call. However, Brady still had time to win the game even with the bad call.

It pains me to say this, but the Pats are doing it with smoke and mirrors. The team is just too injured to keep going the way it has. I don't see them winning two playoff games.

The only thing that gives me hope is that there are no superpowers in the AFC. I would not like to play Denver again, especially in Denver, but barring that, I would feel okay matching up with anyone else in the conference, even without Gronkn (assuming everyone else is healthy).

A potential SB match up with NOS/SEA/SFF is a different thing altogether, of course.

Friend of mine mad a good point today after we saw the Pats miracle win.

When was the last time the Pats had a couple of tough road games in a season? Seems like they might get one at best, and it always seems when they get Peyton Manning it's in Foxboro. Besides the fact they are in a joke of a division, seems every year they get a lot of things set up to go their way. I guess that garbage PI call today was make up for the Kuechly non-call a couple weeks ago.

just let them play next week.

we don't need o worry about week 19, or whatever, this week.

that's why they play the games

I've got nothing against the Patriots.

If anyone can coach a team to the SB its Belichick.

Even with the loss of Gronk I wouldn't rule them out.

The one team that everyone seems to be looking past is KC.

Not entirely sold on the Broncos or Cincy or Indy for that matter.

you don't consider denver in denver a superpower?

I'm happy we beat them, but give them their due -- it'll be extremely tough with no gronk

Maybe, but I think they might be a half-step behind superpower status. I just think they have some flaws.

But yeah, you're probably right. Like I said, I'd certainly like to avoid them. Anyone else in the AFC? Bring 'em on.

Belichick + the mafia does seem rather formidable.
The game was fixed. Patriots lost to the Browns, refs gave New England the win by BS calls late in the game.

The non-grounding call to Brady when he was inside the tackle box and his pass didn't make it past the LOS.

False start against Jordan Cameron when he didn't flinch.

Jason Cambell outside the tackle box, pass goes past the LOS, WR right there. Intentional grounding call loss of down.

Phantom PI under 60 seconds left in the game to give the Partiots the ball at the one yard line. Ref was right there and when Rob Chudzinski complained the red turned his head away and did not, could not look him in the eye because he knew the call was BS.

Personal foul call on Browns DB to give Pats a fifteen yard advantage with under 60 second left for the on-side kick attempt.

Kicker touches the on-side ball but they refs give the ball to the Partiots.

If this is how the Patriots win then people who say they cheat have legitimate arguments because today the fix was in.

Come back Patsareclasslessdouchebagloserswhocheattowin and do your mafia schtick.

My mafia shtick? You're the one who said they fixed the game, am I misremembering that?

Anyway, I'm not sure why you're arguing with me - we seem to be agreeing. Belichick + the mafia is going to be a tough match-up in the playoffs. Today the Browns, tomorrow the world.

:hifive:

New England fell behind 19-3 when Jason Campbell connected with Josh Gordon for an 80-yard touchdown late in the third. Campbell's third scoring pass of the day, a 4-yarder to Jordan Cameron with 2:39 left in the game, made it 26-14.

That's when Brady engineered the impressive comeback that kept the Patriots in front in the race for the No. 2 playoff seed in the AFC. Had New England lost, Cincinnati would have moved into the second position.

"How many times has he done that in his career?" Browns coach Rob Chudzinski said after his team's seventh loss in eight games. "We had our opportunity and we weren't able to close the game out how we wanted to."

I understand that the Mob fixed this game. I just don't understand why.

The Browns were going to cover the spread either way, so the final score really didn't matter. Why would they go to all that trouble when they still lost their bet on the Patriots?

Jimmy "the Ace" Gelanzo had the NE money line.

So when New England has a game fixed do you get paid to be a ##### or does it come naturally for you?

I didn't even see the PI call, but it couldn't have been as bad as blowing the play dead as soon as the receiver is hit and fumbles the ball with a clear lane for a TD return.

Edit: Just saw the replay of the interference call, its close for sure but theres a really good way to avoid that call if you're the browns DB on that play -- don't grab the receivers arm who is in front of you, the grab was obvious.

A lot of stupidity in here. Even if they don't call PI Brady would have had 2nd &10 at the 30 with 35 seconds to go. The Browns weren't going to stop him. They are 4-9 for a reason. No discipline and no heart.

All these Pats haters seriously make me crack up. Get over it already. Will a hug make you feel better?? Pats got robbed in the Panthers game, and this certainly made up for it. Excuses are all you've got. A win is a win and this team certainly has the chance to win a Superbowl with or without Gronk.
LOL.

What odds do you want to make a bet against that happening?

Close to zero chance the Pats win the Superbowl this year with no Gronk.

:lmao: You obviously missed the first 3 quarters...talk about stupidity.

I marvel at many things NE does, such as the great execution on the onside kick, and get nauseated by what seems to be a team that gets a fair share of breaks. It might just be my perception but I don't dislike NE at all. Seldom do you see a player berate officials like Brady does and it's pretty much every week. I guess it's a perk of being great.

Another thing they are just amazing at situational football. It's obvious they have prepared very well for almost any situation. I think NE or Denver might be the best at it right now.

And none of this would have been an issue if CLE would have kicked the PAT in the 3rd quarter.
Exactly. That's what they get for chasing the pts.

Pats would have gone for 1, and still been up 1.

CLE failing on the 2pt conversion early in the 3rd prompted NE to go for the 2pt at the end of the third (successfully). If CLE had taken the PAT instead they would have been up 20-3 prior to that NE touchdown, and there wouldn't have been any advantage for NE to go for 2 in that situation.
This. How do people miss stuff this obvious? Does anyone really think the Patriots would have gone for 2 when they made it 20-9 (which the score would have been had Cleveland kick the XP instead of going for 2 at 12-0)?

I can see why people are whining about the PI call. That defender was definitely going for the ball, and the rules say his right to make the catch is equal to that of the receiver's. Definitely a bad call, especially with the incidental contact going on there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyCKJZFLU1E
Seems like a totally legit opinion to have for someone that didn't actually watch the video he linked...

Defender doesn't even know where the ball is AND is making it impossible for the WR to catch the ball by grabbing his arm.
