DQwell Jackson

Andra Davis

Leon Williams

I believe that Jackson started all of the games in which he was healthy last year w/ Williams filling in when he was hurt. Will Williams take the full-time gig away from Davis?

Anyone have an inkling as to how this will play out?

TIA

they weren't too happy with davis... he actually started to lose snaps to williams... id say going foward its all D'Qwell and Leon... Davis might even get cut... i think he has a hefty salary for a backup.

It appears their comfortable with Jackson and Williams

Davis is due to earn $3 mil this year. Can't see him being cut, unless Browns are desperate in trying to free up some cap space. He could be trade bait, I'm sure he would pique alot of interest. Davis could hang around another year and cut into to Williams or Jackson's snaps.

Won't have an idea until the fate of Andra Davis is determined. Methinks he'll be cut, we'll add a cheap alternative in free agency, and look for another rotation player in the 3rd or 4th of the draft. DQwell should be a 3 downer regardless, Leon may end up in a rotation though. If all that were to happen and Curtis Lofton were to fall to the Browns in the 2nd I could see us going for him too, but no other ILB in this year's class is worth a 2nd round pick.

I don't think Cleveland goes ILB in the draft unless it's 3rd or 4th round with a guy like Philip Wheeler or maybe even a Beau Bell. They need a replacement for McGinest and might try to get one in the second. For the record, I don't think Lofton gets by the Saints and Bengals in round two.

Leon Williams was solid for me in part time duty last season.

I hear CLE loves him, and he will only continue to get better while they phase Davis out.

Anytime CLE played a team that had more 3 WR sets, Leon Williams played the majority of the time (he was one of the nickle LB'ers). If they played a run dominate team, they played Davis more. When they draft Leon Williams, they knew he'd need a little work and now with some more experience...you can see they are playing much more. I'd expect to see him line up w/ Jackson FT soon, if not already at the start of camp.

Then the question is:Is 3 mil too much to pay Davis as a pt player and insurance policy? They may be better of to dangle him out there and see what they can get.

I think he's becoming one of those players that should be worth something, but nobody will really give you anything for them kind. Thus, he most likely would be a cut and p/u type player. Just a guess, so don't etch it in stone.
