I would be interested, pending how many of the dynasty thread guys show interest (have always wanted to be in a league with many of them).

Crap, I told myself that I would only be in 2-3 leagues this year but this sounds fun to be in a league with a bunch of you guys from the forums. It might be a little to steep price wise for me though, so I'll have to think about it. Plus it would be interesting to ask start/sit questions since I take a lot advice from you guys.

Two questions...

What do you gain from having two divisions? With 14 teams you already have a perfectly balanced schedule.

Also, why draft rookies before the combine? Will the rookie draft be held before the combine every year?

Thanks for the question.1. It's been a bit of a paradigm, I suppose. The leagues that I have joined typically have them. But, your point is very valid - they are not needed, from a balance stand point. If I can't think of a reason to keep them, I won't. Something to think about.2. This is something that was done in a startup last year in a league I am in, started by Patoons (Long time poster/commish). It was the most enjoyable start-up I have done, and think the combine/workout/draft process was a big part of that. It is a bit of a curve ball, and I could see some potential owners not appreciating it as much as I did, but it is not something I would consider changing, assuming I can find enough owners interested in doing so. Also, I like having a startup before the resources are so readily available. The annual rookie draft will be held the week following the NFL draft. After the initial batch of rookies, the "wildcard" factor is already so much, with the devy players. The annual Devy draft will take place in August.

Thank you for all of the interest. The league is not full yet, though the interest seems to be high. I will be responding to every e-mail and PM shortly. Once I have the site finalized, including bylaws, I will be sending them to each interested owner. At that time, you will have the opportunity to secure a spot, after having looked them over. Please keep questions and interest coming.

Thank you.

Tried to PM but your inbox is full. "The member Concept Coop cannot receive any new messages"

Definitely interested

My PM Box has been cleaned out. I should be able to receive more now. Please PM me with your e-mail address, or e-mail me so I have it.

Thanks, guys! I don't think we'll have any delay in getting 14 owners, the interest level seems very high.

.Also, why draft rookies before the combine? Will the rookie draft be held before the combine every year?
Shouldn't that give you an advantage since you follow college football closely?I love the idea personally, and it will only be for the initial draft.

Rough Draft:

League:

_______ will consist of one 14 team division, who will play each team one time. The championship will be determined by a 6 team playoff. T

The wildcard playoff round will begin week 14, the divisional round will begin week 15, and the championship game will take place week 16. The two teams with the best record will be awarded a first round bye. The 4 wildcard teams will be determined as such: of the remaining field, the two teams with the best record will be awarded wildcard spots. The final 2 wildcard positions will be awarded to the remaining 2 teams with the highest point total.

Top 2 seeds: Best W/L record - receive bye.

Seeds 3-4: Best W/L record of remaining 12 teams - no bye.

Seeds 5-6: Best scoring total of remaining 10 teams - no bye.

Tie-breakers will be handled as such:

1. Total season points as of week 14

2. Head-to-head record. If more than 2 teams are tied, combined head-to-head will be used for ALL tied teams. Example: Team 1 (3-0); Team 2 (2-1); Team 3 (1-2). The order would be: Team 1, Team 2, Team 3.

3. Winning % vs. top 7 teams as of week 14.

4. Coin Toss

In the playoffs, the top seed will always play the lowest seed to advance.

Draft:

The initial draft, consisting of 23 rounds, will be held prior to the NFL Scouting Combine, on February 22nd, 2012. The timer for each pick is 12 hours. However, to ensure that the draft is complete before the combine, the commissioner may shorten the timer, if needed, with 12 hour notice to all owners, via message board. The draft will go in serpentine order, with the exception of the 3rd round, which is frozen (same order as 2nd round). Teams are required to draft a total of 22 players, in any combination (positions), with one exception: to ensure that every team can field a complete lineup, a maximum of two (2) team defenses will be allowed on any one roster, at any one time. A complete starting roster is not required until the kickoff of week 1 (i.e. - it is okay not to draft DEF (or any position), as long as one is in place prior to kick off of the first game. All NFL draft eligible rookies and rostered NCAA players are eligible to be drafted in the initial startup. The maximum number of players on NCAA rosters (Developmental players) allowed during the startup draft process is 14 (see Developmental Players/Taxi Squad). Owners may draft more than one, but once 14 have been drafted, bay any combination of teams, no more will be permitted. During the startup draft, owners are to draft "FA" players and indicate the name, position (and school if devy) of the rookie or developmental player they are drafting in the comments. For example, to draft Player X - QB - Michigan, who is not loaded as an option, one should instead draft (just example): Brett Favre - FA - QB, and write "Player X - QB - Michigan (or "rookie", if draft eligible" in the comments. The commissioner will create temporary player profiles as we go along. Developmental picks will also be tracked on the league message board.

The initial draft order will be determined as follows:

The owners will select their own draft positions.

They will select in an order generated by an online dice rolling simulation.

Example: Team A rolled the highest total, he or she gets to pick what position they draft from (1-14). Team B rolled the lowest, he or she will have the draft position left, after the previous 13 teams have selected.

*In the event of a missed pick, the following 3 owners may pick. The owner who missed the pick MUST wait 3 picks before picking again. The draft order will be manually adjusted by the commissioner. After the following 3 picks, the owner who missed the pick will be put back on the clock. Missing 2 picks in any one draft will resort in action from the commissioner, and could include removal from the league. Removal will freeze the draft while an alternate onwer is found.

Rookie Draft:

A 3 round annual rookie draft will take place the week following the NFL draft. Teams will draft in NFL style order, where the team with the lowest standing selects first. The only exception being the teams that make the championship game - the winner drafts last, the runner-up, second to last. Each round will follow the same order. The tie breakers used will mirror those used for playoff position, in reverse. The team with the lowest points drafts first, the team with the lower head-to-head drafts first, et cetera.

Developmental Players/Taxi Squad

Taxi Squad: Each owner will be allowed on taxi squad roster spot. This spot is to be used on NCAA players who are currently on an NCAA roster.

-Any NCAA player acquired above and beyond the allotted taxi squad, will count towards the owners 22 man roster.

-Devi players are not eligible for IR roster spots.

-NO free agency transactions (dropping/adding) will be allowed for devy players during the season or off season.

-Prior (2 weeks) to the development draft, an owner can elect to release a developmental player back into the pool of eligible devy picks.

-After the NFL draft in which the development player applied has concluded, the player will be added to the owners rosters (I.E. - Devy player X was drafted by an NFL team, or was not selected, but was eligible). The onwer has 1 week to make space for the player, or release his rights. Once released, he is treated as a Free agent.

-Any Developmental roster moves can be reviewed by the commissioner for collusion.

Devy Draft:

A 1 round annual developmental draft will take place yearly, before the start of the NCAA season, during the month of August. The order and timer will mirror that of the rookie draft.

-Any NCAA player on a football roster is eligible.

Trading:

All trades are executed upon the offeree accepting the trade.

-All transaction are can bee reviewed by the commissioner for collusion. If the commissioner determines that a trade is in fact collusion, the transaction will be put to a vote. A majority vote is needed for the transaction to go through. Owners are invited to express concern to the commissioner in private, but no vote is initiated without consent of the commissioner. If any transaction involving the commissioner is questioned, the questioning owner should contact the commissioner in private. If it is determined that the commissioner has committed collusion (after vote/conversation), the owners of the league should contact a LeagueSafe representative immediately.

-The yearly trade deadline is the start of week 13. No trades are permitted after kickoff of said week.

-The trading of rookie draft picks is permitted, up to two years in advance.

-Trading a 1st round rookie draft pick requires that an owner place a deposit of half the yearly fees, for that season. (Trading a pick 2 years out, requires a deposit for the season 2 years out).

-Trading 2nd and 3rd round draft picks do not require a deposit.

-Trading of a devy pick is allowed one season out, and requires a deposit of half the yearly fees for that season.

-The owner trading the 1st round pick (rookie or devy) has 2 week (14 days) to pay deposit, or trading rights will be revoked for the current season, and until the applicable draft takes place. (Trade a 2014 pick and do not pay deposit, you cannot trade until after 2014 draft).

Waivers:

-During the season, the waiver process will occur on Wednesday morning.

-The team with the worst record has the #1 priority, then the team with the 2nd worst, et cetera.

-During the off-season, and from Wednesday to Sunday morning, there is no waiver process.

League Fees:

-Fees are due 2 weeks prior to a league event, such as a draft, including the initial startup.

-The commissioner will take no portion of the winnings as profit.

- If a team leaves, after paying a deposit, that money will be used as incentive for a replacement owner, if needed. If it is not needed, based on commissioner's judgment - it will be rolled over for one year. If, at the end of that year, the deposit is still not needed, it will be added to the pot, divided evenly amongst the winners. The commissioner has the right to use multiple deposits for one single team, if needed. For example, if two owners leave after paying deposit, the deposit pool would include $150. If the commissioner needs to use that as fees for a particularly bad team, to find a replacement, he may do so. Replacement owners will only be allowed with majority vote.

Miscellaneous:

-One owner may not control more than one team.

-Throwing games or tanking is not allowed. Punishment will be determined by the commission, and can include removal from the league.

-Owners suspicious of collusion/taking should contact the commissioner, prior to voicing accusations.

-Respect of all owners is accepted and required at all times.

-Amendments to bylaws can be made by a majority vote.

-Amendments to scoring system, starting requirements, or any changes that compromise past transactions, will require unanimous vote, including the commissioner.

-The commissioner reserves the right to take action for any situation which may not be represented in these bylaws. Doing so will require immediate inclusion of said action into the bylaws, to prevent future issues.

-These written bylaws serve as reference, in the event of system error. If the commissioner was to make an error on the system setup that conflicted these rules, it will be corrected to match these written bylaws. For example, if the commissioner were to set the league up with incorrect scoring settings by mistake, they will be corrected to match these written bylaws.

I LOVE the idea of drafting before the NFL draft (and am in the league of Patoon's that Coop references), but not before the combine. NFL teams spend all that time and money for a reason - it's some cases (though not all) you learn some very useful info.

Bump - still looking for additional owners. Have a very strong group and a need a few to fill it out. PM, e-mail, or post with interest. Thanks.

I would prefer to the draft after the combine and before the NFL draft, but it is not a deal breaker (just a preference)

noticed the setting for rushing yards was ......wrong I assume...it's set at 0.01 instead of 0.1
99.999% sure he had a typo, should be the standard 0.1Looking forward to the draft, should be fun to see some people bomb picking rookies who flop at the combine and others capitalize on guys who are currently under the radar.

Thanks for the invite!

I'm already in two money dynasty leagues, otherwise I'd consider it.

J

I am in the process of creating a 14 team dynasty league and want to get a few feelers out there. First, a basic breakdown of the league:

-14 team, 2 divisions

-0.75/1.0/1.25 PPR for RB/WR/TE

-$150 yearly fee (spread bewteen champ, runner up, playoff teams, points champ, division winners, and toilet bowl. Breakdown to come)

-Myfantasyleague.com hosted

-100% payouts, minus MFL fees

-Payments handled through Leaguesafe

-H2H

-QRRWWWTEFDef (No kicker)

-22 man Roster

-1 man Taxi squad

-1 IR spot

-3 round yearly rookie draft (can trade 2 years out/50% deposit)

-1 round annual devy draft (can trade 1 year out/50% deposit)

-6 Team playoff

A rough draft of the bylaws are posted below. They will be finalized before money accepted.

Something to note, that is unique to this league, is the startup draft date. It will be held the week BEFORE the NFL combine, and will include rookies. It adds question marks, but a lot of enjoyment, following your players through the draft process.

Thank you.

I'm super excited for the draft, with all the college players available and drafting the incoming rookies before the combine it's going to incorporate a ton of differing strategies.

There's no website with a blueprint for the optimal way to draft in this scenario, loving it.

Is this league alive? Concept Coop has disappeared from FBG and has apparently disappeared from numerous leagues? Hope all is OK with him. Just wondering if anybody has heard from him?

The league is alive.

Still got 13 of us and will look for a replacement for Coop shortly (good team with extra Devy pics next year and an extra 1st round Rookie).

Leave message here if interested and I will DM you.
