Closest Thing You'll Find to Being a NFL GM/Owner - 1 Orphan Team (1 Viewer)

I run 2 identical leagues and I have 1 opening, and want some new blood. I've been a FF Commish since 1988, and have run complex leagues since '96. I also was an NFL writer for a major media company back in the day before deciding to get a real job (and went to law school). So now I scratch that itch through being Commish of the best leagues I can create.

16-team, 55 player roster, Dynamic QB, TE-Premium, Big Play IDP scoring. Start 12 IDPs. All non-starters contribute 25% of points to your weekly score so deep rosters are a must. Lineups include punter, kicker, and OL unit.

I believe the "fantasy" in FF is of running an NFL team and therefore I try to recreate the NFL GM experience while still making some gameplay allowances.

My leagues include salary cap, multiyear contracts, 7-rd rookie draft with rooks getting cheap 4-year contracts, active offseason vet auction for free agency, Franchise tag, 5th yr option, compensatory draft picks based on prior year's FA gains/losses, etc. You can also restructure a contract, converting salary into a bonus, to free up cap space and push dead money into future years. If it's in the NFL, I try real hard to get it into my league rules.

What makes these leagues unique, though, it is includes a financial model where you're also competing on profits and losses. Winning increases your fan base over time, which generates more revenue. You keep 3/4 of home game revenue and 1/4 of away game revenue, with the total gate based on the combined popularity of the two teams. You can also make investments in your stadium to create a revenue multiplier. Player contracts and stadium expenses count against your bottom line. 25% of the annual prizes go to the 4 most profitable franchises for the year.

$125 annual dues. League hosted on MFL, only because it's the only site that can handle all my rules (and yes, I've looked at Fantrax).

The orphan team needs a rebuild, but it has 10 rookie picks include #2 and 6 of the top 50. Here's the link: MASTER OLIGARCHS of FOOTBALL
