I have never been, despite living in So Cal for 14 years or so, but this year's lineup looks better than others I have seen in the past.

And that doesn't even include a camping pass, which is half the experience really...

It's pricey but for the number of bands you get it's not too crazy. The main three headliners this year are all acts which are big enough for most major city stadium level type concerts.

It sold out pretty quickly. They sold all the weekend 1 festival passes only in presale, so if you wanted to go and didn't get that, you had to bundle it with the shuttle pass ($85). Kinda sucks, but they need to keep the city happy to have 90k+ people show up 2 weekends in a row. Craigslist is the way to go. While dumbasses overpay the first 2 weeks after it sells out, #### happens and people cancel last minute. At this point, people just try to get their $ back, so you can usually get a good deal. While scammers are common, the bracelet is not the easiest thing to duplicate fraudulently.
