Coby Fleener owners in championship game - what's the plan (1 Viewer)

I had him and Jordan Reed most of the season... now it feels like my TE position has fallen apart. I've already dropped Reed but now I don't know what to do about Fleener. Hard to trust him in the championship game. Anyone else in this situation?

No idea. Funny that I was pissed about Tamme, yet I got more points from him than I would have with Fleener. I should have gone Pitta in both leagues, tried to split the risk. Fleener had been pretty consistent, just thought his floor was nice and ceiling wasn't quite as high. Never would have expected no catches.

Good question. Looking at maybe Quarless at home vs Steelers. He has 12 rec and 2 TDs over the last 2 games.
Considering him or Ertz. Both have some concerns for me, though. Quarless' production has come with Flynn. Not sure if he'd be on the same page with Rodgers if he's back. Ertz hasn't had back-to-back good games all season and he's capable of vanishing just like Fleener did yesterday.

Start fleener. It was an aberration of the stranglehold defense plus running the clock out... unlikely to be repeated this week.

His targets have been solid lately.

I had Gronk, Jordan Reed, and G. Graham so I'm in a similar spot. Ertz worked yesterday but not sure who I want next week. What about Eiftert or Marcedes Lewis?

Had him as my backup to Gronk. Started Tamme last week, which I'm obviously not doing again. I'd probably just roll with Coby if I felt a little more confident in his matchup. Considering MLewis (scored in 3 straight) and possibly Griffin, assuming GGraham and Daniels are out.

what the hell happened to him yesterday?
It was a mixed bag. There was an early desire to involve Hilton, a late situational desire to milk the clock with runs, and a need for extra blockers against a tough defensive line. Toss on a few lost targets to the secondary WR options who finally inspired some confidence last week and you have a bad day for a TE.

A lot of depth at TE due to injuries. If Quarless is gone, there's Ryan Griffin (if Graham is out), Paulsen (if Reed is out), McGrath (if Fasano is out), Chase Ford (if Carlson is out).

Like Griffin if he gets another chance. DEN gives up yards to TE. Not as safe as Quarless but more upside for a big game.

As of right now, thinking this will be my WW priority:

1. Lewis

2. Griffin

3. Quarless

4. Paulsen

Obviously that would change if we hear any of the nominal starters (Graham/Daniels, Reed) or guys who compete with them for targets (Shorts) are playing. Good news is my opponent in the finals has made 3 transactions all year, so is unlikely to be competing with me.

I have it (right now) as:

1. Quarless

2. Ertz

3. Eifert

4. Lewis

5. Paulsen

Really, the question for ROS right now is who scores the most points in week 16 - can we figure that out?

I can answer that for you! No, no we can't. I don't care how smart you are, how plugged in you are, I don't care if you yourself are one of the TEs on this list. We're talking about replacement-level guys here. They could just as easily put up a 1/7/0 as they could a 6/60/1, and you won't be able to predict which will be the winning lottery ticket.

I'm just starting with the assumption that I'll have to win without production from the TE slot (I certainly did last week). Anything I get, especially a TD, is total gravy. And if the TE I start craps the bed while one of the other guys has a huge game, I won't beat myself up, any more than I would over picking the wrong Lotto numbers.

the problem is are those guys really any better than fleener? The guy screwed me last week but i dont see why i would trust any of those guys more thanfleener

had those two as well and grabbed pitta.

What about Zack Miller (SEA)? ARZ is horrible vs the TE this year.
This is a nice option, as it seems that Carroll has game-planned Miller heavily due to matchups before (IIRC).
This is tempting. Noticed this blurb on yahoo...

On the season, TEs are performing a whopping 84.5-percent above the league average against Arizona. Essentially, what the Cardinals have allowed to the position is nearly equal to what Jimmy Graham has produced on a week-in, week-out basis.

I'm almost certainly going with Zach Miller over Fleener.

And absolutely scared spitless to do it no matter how amazing the matchup is.

Wow, I knew about the TE advantage but I enever would have thought it's that much.

Per FFT, AZ has allowed 189.6 points (including 14 TDs).

Jimmy Graham has scored 191.1 FFO (including 14 TDs).

Great Zeus.

Surprised people are still playing in Week 16 if that is your TE.
Why? If you have Fleener it likely means you got him very late and are stacked at other positions. A hit and miss Fleener has likely been a part of a TEBC.

Apparently most leagues let you play more than just a TE.

Is Fleener that bad? Sure throw out last week's 0, but before that in a PPR league he was more than 8 points in 7 straight weeks with 4 of those above 10. Averaging 9.6 for year. You could do way worse at TE.

Throw out last weeks 0, a very important week, but yeah.... throw that out.

You cannot do any worse that a 0 in a playoff week.

I have Fleener as my TE.

My waiver options are:

Z. Miller

J. Cook

R. Housler

A. Quarless

I really looked hard at Miller vs Arizona and I can't convince myself that Miller will be better.

I'm starting Griffin over Fleener. If Miller were available I'd start him in a heartbeat. But as I've said elsewhere, we're talking replacement-level TEs here. There is no right answer, because any one of them could just as easily go 2/16 as 6/60/2. Yahoo has me projected as getting 8 from Griffin and winning my match-up by 7. In my mind, that means I'm down by 1. Just assume 0 from your TE and anything you get will be gravy.

And whatever happens, don't beat yourself up over it. There's really no way to predict which crappy TE will have the best game.
