Cold Pizza just said Broncos did trade with Texans (1 Viewer)

If this happens then I like the Bills chances a little bit more of Peterson falling to them.
Curious as to why? Would Houston take Peterson at 10? This hurts the Bills chance at Willis.
There were plenty of mocks having Peterson dropping no further than Houston. If Denver now has Houston's pick, Mr. P is saying that he could drop further down to BUF.
I hope Peterson falls to 12. I see the Bills moving up for him more so. Carriker may go to San Fran so it will be wait and see for the Bills. Can't wait.

Nothing on Houston radio or message boards, but kffl.com has this note

Texans | Team to move down in draftFri, 27 Apr 2007 10:45:45 -0700Neil Stratton, of Inside the League, reports that the Houston Texans, as rumored previously, will swap first-round draft picks with the Denver Broncos in this year's NFL Draft Friday, April 27, in exchange for Denver's second-round pick, No. 56 overall. With the Texans' first- and second-round picks, the team is considering four players: Utah FS Eric Weddle, Ohio State WR Anthony Gonzalez, USC WR Dwayne Jarrett and Florida S Reggie Nelson.

It was done as part of a mock draft. Bob Glauber and the other guy.

The other guy "MOCKED": Broncos givng up 1.21, 3rd, and 2nd next year, for 1.10 (Willis).

Not a done deal, has not happened, aliens have not attacked New Jersey.

Getting nervous, Travis Henry owners?
Denver trading up tells me Willis, a DE or some other defensive player.
Maybe, maybe not. I've learned to never try to guess what Skeletor is up to.Maybe Skeletor feels All Day is slipping due to the recent collarbone rumors, and if he is gone, then take Willis...

But like I said, one can never tell what Shanny will do. But if I was a Henry owner, I'd take notice...

If the Broncos move to #10, they're definitely targeting Willis. With Al Wilson just released, they have a gaping hole at ILB - Willis could step in and start from day 1.

There have been threads discussing this for a few days now, Denver is looking for an impact defensive player. DE and LB have been the most discussed as both their LB'ers are likely gone after this season and the D'line is already in shambles.

Mods need to change the title of this thread.

If AD were to fall, he'd certainly be tough to pass up at #10.

Reasons why it won't be Peterson:

1. Denver just gave Travis Henry $12 million in guaranteed cash.

2. Why move up to #10? Peterson probably won't last past Minnesota.

3. Shanahan has never used a top 30 pick on a RB. Things can change, but I'll bet on the trend.

It's Okoye or Willis. Probably Willis.

Patrick Willis makes a lot of sense here. Denver leapfrogged San Francisco and Buffalo.
Yep. Will the 49ers or the Bills now leapfrog the Broncos by trading up to No. 9 with the Dolphins? :retroicalquestion:

To me this begs the question of the timing of this deal. Why not wait to pull the trigger on the trade until the Broncos are certain the guy they want is there at 1.10?FWIW, if the Broncos have indeed traded up, its either for Willis or Branch.

I have to think we're targeting Carriker, not Willis. Warrick Holdman is a serviceable starter, and we need DL help more than LB.

Denver traded up to #10. Houston received #21 and #56.
:lmao: ETA* I guess it was on Cold Pizza... nevermind. These 3 threads need to be merged.
Nope, that was a guy that misunderstood a mock draft. This one (above) is from this guy:

ITL Notebook: April 27

You heard it hear first: Inside the League has learned that the Houston Texans, as rumored previously, will swap first-rounders with Denver later today in exchange for Denver's second-round pick this year, No. 56. The Broncos will select Mississippi IB Patrick Willis.

Broncos to Swap with Texans for No. 10 Overall

Neil Stratton, of Inside the League, has learned that the Houston Texans, as previously rumored, will trade its first-round draft pick, No. 10 overall, in this year's NFL Draft to the Denver Broncos Friday, April 27, in exchange for the Broncos' first-round pick, No. 21 overall, and second-round pick, No. 56 overall. The Broncos would select Mississippi LB Patrick Willis.

Trades aren't always 11th hour. Two years ago the Skins moved up into the first before draft day to take Jason Campbell. ESPN called them on it. Gibbs was furious at them for posting the leak. It didn't matter. No one leapfrogged Washington. They took Campbell as expected. Teams can't just trade up for free. So if San Francisco or Buffalo just got swooped, they'll still have to move up to re-swoop Denver. Bottom line is probably that Denver has 2-3 guys they'd be happy with at #10. None of those guys would've been there at #21.

Cold pizza is now saying Denver trades it's third rounder (not sure which), #21, and next years second rounder for #10

If this trade is true and it was only a swap of 1st's and Denver's 2nd, then Houston got hosed from a draft pick value chart standpoint.

Sirius just reported that Denver "is reportedly in talks" with Houston but would not go so far as to say a trade was done.

Seriously, just let the people who have not read the thread keep posting the same things.

I love how everyone knows who Denver will take.

Seeing as almost no one saw them taking Cutler.

They're as likely to take AP, Hall, Willis.

I agree with the questionable timing. The Niners would have plenty of ammo to make a counter move if Willis is the target. To leak the story/make the deal this early, there has to be multiple targets or it's part of a larger move to come (Briggs, move up again) IMO.

Shanny just said in his press conference that he has not talked to Houston, but then when the reporters asked if Sundquist has he just smiled.

Now according to KFFL

Texans | No deals completed yet

Fri, 27 Apr 2007 12:27:15 -0700

Updating ongoing reports, ESPN's John Clayton reports a trade between the Houston Texans and any other team will not happen Friday, April 27. If anything is going to happen, it would take place during the NFL Draft Saturday, April 28.

So WHOOOOOOOO knows....

Shanny just said in his press conference that he has not talked to Houston, but then when the reporters asked if Sundquist has he just smiled.

Texans GM Rick Smith was just on local radio and flatly denied that any deal is finalized and said that they wouldn't make a deal until they were on the clock and knew who was available.

Louisville defensive tackle Amobi Okoye "appears to be" the Broncos' primary target if they make a move up in the draft. We suspect the Broncos would have to move up to No. 5 or No. 6 to nab Okoye. New defensive coordinator Jim Bates is known to love more massive interior tackles, but may be fond of Okoye's pass-rushing ability.

Which of course is how they should do it. If someone slips to them they may want to take the player themselves, or may find a bidding war going on for their pick that will net them more.
