RB Kenny McIntosh, SEA (1 Viewer)

He could be a tj yeldon tony pollard pre 2022 type but i don't think he can be an every down back. He is lacking in some areas. Here are a couple other takes on him

I saw your link above but like to read multiple scouts analysis. Remember some people are way off. If most of the reports agree about one thing I usually assume that can be considered solid info.

Ah, you're new here. Faust is the linkmaster extraordinaire. It's up to us to find other information and such. He assumes a base level knowledge about the prospect. You should indeed find other scouting reports than what he links to. It's a way of starting the conversation on the board about this guy. He didn't have his own thread yet. Now he does. That's important here.

i love the draft and scouting.

I am a big fan of McIntosh...his game looks like it will translate well to the NFL...there is not gonna be too many Bell-cows in today's NFL and McIntosh is the type of RB you really need to pay attention to because he could end up being a very productive member of an RBBC who could be fantasy relevant due to his receiving skills.

anybody ever have any questions or want insights to players ive scouted professionally for a long time
Might I ask for who? And I'm not asking that in any kind of way that I hope implies I don't believe you. Just curious if you mean more for an NFL team, website, scouting service?

i have scouted freelance for nfl teams, mostly for sports agencies the last year or so. Some college stuff for game prep against opponents. I have interned a few young guns who are with nfl squads now or blesto. I will be at the senior bowl reviewing 2 players in particular for one nfl orginization.

he has home run ability making him a viable fantasy option for sure

NFL scouts definitely going to feel Kenny McIntosh’s speed when they see him at field level in Mobile. 🔥

Full-Time Dame @DP_NFL
Against OSU, Kenny McIntosh only had 10 total touches for 126 yards and a touchdown.

With limited touches, he generated big/explosive plays. I’d love to see what he can become with a bigger workload at the next level!

out of all the running backs in mobile hes the one im least interested in. HE has had so much time in the national spotlight. The other backs need to be seen more.

I understand that point and it makes sense but on the other hand after playing in a loaded backfield for 4 years it will be interesting to see how he compares to the rest of these backs...can he be one of those guys like Josh Jacobs (not saying he is that good) who puts up better #'s in the pros than in college because he actually gets more opportunity in the NFL and also has low tread on the tires.

Seahawks selected Georgia RB Kenny McIntosh with the No. 237 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Pete Carroll loves his running backs, doesn't he folks? McIntosh (6’/204) was a backup for most of his time at Georgia but made an impact as a pass catcher and a kick returner before earning the starting job in 2022. He posted a pedestrian rushing line of 149/829/10 but was unstable as a receiver out of the backfield. McIntosh caught 43 passes for 505 yards and a pair of scores. Things came apart at the combine after McIntosh ran a 4.62 40-yard dash followed by a 7.66 three-cone drill. He earned a 4.1 relative athletic score. McIntosh will likely serve as a third-down specialist and a specials teams contributor because of his poor athleticism. Ken Walker and Zach Charbonnet are likely to split Seattle's backfield to start the season.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said RB Kenny McIntosh "easily" could have been taken in the third round.

Carroll went on to say that McIntosh is a "special" RB and noted that he is already thought of as a leader in the RB room. Though all this positive talk probably doesn't augur well for Deejay Dallas, Carroll also said Ken Walker had a "fantastic" offseason. Carroll is often extremely positive and offers a lot of praise about his players in public, so we wouldn't necessarily get carried away with this, but the fact that he got this kind of praise this soon does put McIntosh on the monitor list this offseason.

Kenny McIntosh will be a weapon in the passing game.

In his senior season at Georgia, McIntosh caught 43 passes for 505 yards and two touchdowns, making him one of the most productive pass-catching running backs in college football, and for his career he averaged an impressive 11.3 yards per reception.
McIntosh's natural pass-catching ability showed up again this weekend, and the way he sees it, catching passes is just what he's always done.
"Just trusting my hands. I've been catching the ball since I was yea-high," McIntosh said, holding his hand down below waist-level. I remember catching the ball in the house with my dad. Just having that confidence in my hands that that ball isn't going to touch the ground if it hits my hands."
McIntosh could also be a factor in the return game, having handled return duties "my whole life," he said.

In fact, McIntosh explained that his versatility earned him the nickname, "The Blueprint" which he now has tattooed on his left forearm.
"Catch returns, special teams, I did everything," he said. "That's why they call me the Blueprint, I can do it all."

"Just being able to trust my hands," said McIntosh. "I've been catching the ball since I was yea-high. I can remember catching the ball with my dad, so just having that confidence in my hands, and knowing that ball not going touch the ground if it hits my hands. Also, I know I'm not going to do the pushups he'd make me do if I dropped the ball, so I might as well just catch it."
Former Georgia running back Kenny McIntosh brings his receiving abilities out of the backfield to Seattle. In 2021, McIntosh led all Division I running backs with a 92.1 receiving grade from Pro Football Focus after catching 22 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns.

Even after his draft fall I am still very high on McIntosh as a player...not sure if he will be useful in fantasy but I think he will carve out a very solid real football role as a reliable receiving back...he definitely does not make anything easier for Walker and Charbonnet Owners.

I was listening to Jim Nagy on a podcast yesterday and he said the Senior Bowl scouts had McIntosh rated as his top senior RB before the combine, ahead of Charbonett. Terrible workout numbers and some talk of medical issues hurt him but your eye's might not be lying to you with what you are seeing on the field and as a Walker owner I agree he's a potential problem. Deejay Dallas is strong in pass protection, Charbonnet brings a really good passing game skill set, but I think McIntosh is better at that aspect of the game then both of them. Like you said probably won't be enough in this backfield makeup to make him worth anything for fantasy, but easy to see him denting the other two more then people anticipate.

Not worth rostering at this point. Barring a couple bad injuries, he's useless

Is he at best another Sony Michel?

He's a mediocre runner, excellent receiver, and ran disappointingly slow at the combine

I can't speak for others but I am confused...is this anything we need to look at in 2023?
Walker, Charbon, this team collects RB prospects so whoever is getting the touches will shine.

Definitely not. Especially with what they have invested in Charbonet and Walker.

It will be tough but I do think he is worth a roster spot if you have one early in the year...I do see a scenario where he carves out a James White type of role...with Walker and Charbonnet onboard it is going to be difficult to make fantasy noise but I do believe this is the type of kid that his Coaches and Teammates will fall in love and he will find a role in this offense.

NFL Rookie Watch @NFLRookieWatxh
Kenny McIntosh is a big play MACHINE McIntosh has reportedly already seen reps with Seahawks first team, despite being a seventh round pick.McIntosh’s “explosiveness” has reportedly been on full display so far, as well as his elite backfield vision. Many NFL scouts thought McIntosh was “comparable” to Tony Pollard coming out of the NFL Draft. The Seahawks may have the DEEPEST RB room in the NFL.

NFL Beat Writers @32BeatWriters
“With coach Pete Carroll calling him ‘one of the highlights’ of camp so far, McIntosh continued to put everyone on notice during Monday's practice. During individual drills, he demonstrated excellent contact balance running through the gauntlet and exhibited top-notch technique, hand placement, and pop in pass protection drills, drawing praise from position coach Chad Morton.”

Getting a lot of love the past few days. Player Profiler comps him to Dare Ogunbowale. His measurables are not impressive.

Matthew Berry sees him as a non-threat to Walker's workload if Walker is healthy...more of a pass catching back.

I see him more as someone who could make Deejay Dallas expendable than anything else. This is still shaping up to be a KW/Charbs dominated backfield once both guys are healthy.
