Hey folks, my friends and I are experimenting with a new pool format. I'd love to set up a FBG one - for free this year, possibly for $ in the future if the format works. Post here if you are interested in playing along.

Here's the rules:

The game: Pick one Division I college team for each of 17 different sporting seasons. Can’t pick the same school twice. Can’t pick more than 3 schools from the same conference - schools that play in more than one conference will count towards their primary conference (e.g. UCLA/Big Ten, Notre Dame/ACC, Georgetown/Big East). Conference pairings are as listed on the Learfield site.

The sports (First game):

Fall - all picks due August 24th Noon Eastern
  • Football - FBS (Aug 24)
  • Football - FCS (Aug 24)
  • Soccer - M (Aug 22)
  • Soccer - W(Aug 15)
  • Volleyball - W (Aug 30)
  • Field Hockey - W (Aug 25)
  • Water Polo - M (Sept 2)
Winter - hockey picks due 10/1, basketball 11/5
  • Basketball - M (11/6)
  • Basketball - W (11/6)
  • Hockey - M (10/7)
  • Hockey - W(9/21)
Spring - volleyball/water polo picks due 1/15, all else 2/7

  • Baseball - M (2/16)
  • Softball - W (2/8)
  • Lacrosse - M (2/14)
  • Lacrosse - W (2/10)
  • Volleyball - M (1/3)
  • Water Polo - W (1/20)
(Note: Due dates subject to change)

Scoring:
  • Each team will receive points as calculated for the Learfield Directors’ Cup.
    • National Champion receives 100 points
    • Other teams score points based on when they get knocked out of the Nat’l Championship Tournament.
      • For FBS football, points go to all of the final Top 25 poll, plus any unranked bowl team (unranked bowl winners get more points than unranked bowl losers)
    • More detail at the Learfield Directors’ Cup site
Season Tiebreaker - whoever has most 100’s wins, if still tied, then most 99’s, then most 98’s, and so on until a winner is determined. If still tied after matching all of the scores, then we’ll leave it as a tie.

If you want to play, post here. When it's time to make picks, send them to me via DM and I'll post them soon after the deadline (most times will be same day, unless life gets in the way).
