Had it early morning. All clean.Wednesday for me. They won't tell me the time until Tuesday.
The fasting part wasn't bad at all. The worst part is having to drink that liquid on an empty stomach in the early morning.
Not sure. Tasted kinda like syrupy salt water. I had 2 doses. 1st wasn't bad but that 2nd b/c of the empty stomach and the time of the morning was rough. The fasting I thought was surprisingly easy. Actually got me into doing regular 24 hour fasts. The fasting part wasn't bad at all. The worst part is having to drink that liquid on an empty stomach in the early morning.
Magnesium sulfate? Is that the worst this is going to be because that was a piece of cake. Tasted like a mediciney 7-Up.
This is why we do this.Found like tjeee I think. Two small and 1 was larger than he liked (2 mm) but he removed it and said his instincts say it’s pre cancerous.
Have to go back in a year. I don’t even feel like eating. Kinda freaked out/worried but maybe I’m overeating.
Went fine. Prep was more difficult than last time (headache, nausea), but not too bad. Procedure was a fantastic nap. Found/removed one polyp. Good for 5 years.Tomorrow for me. 2nd time.
I'm getting scheduled for my first and they're violating just about every hole since I'm getting the endoscopy/colonoscopy combo meal.
Any idea what the recovery is like after? I may not want to schedule this right before a Vegas trip in a few weeks.

Everyone's recovery is different and you should talk with your doctor but you probably need to wait at least a week.I'm getting scheduled for my first and they're violating just about every hole since I'm getting the endoscopy/colonoscopy combo meal.

Sorry, don't remember that specifically. I do remember that following all the process steps did get me to where I needed to be.Anyone recall how much they pooped after the first bottle of bowel prep? I've only gone twice and a half in the two hours since I took it. Does that sound right?
I was a lil concerned that I wasn’t going enough and then the flood gates opened.Anyone recall how much they pooped after the first bottle of bowel prep? I've only gone twice and a half in the two hours since I took it. Does that sound right?

Just had one a few weeks ago. The first movement I created a new land mass. But then, I was pretty much done; just doing the brown, then yellow then clear water.
I did. I wouldnt recommend it.Went in for my first consultation a few weeks ago, and of course the doctor didn't forward any discussion about noninvasive alternatives such as Cologuard (stool sample screening). When I brought it up as an option, he said I could try that, and it has an accuracy rate of 92%. Seems acceptable to me rather than having to down that nasty drink and have a scope shoved up my butt. Have any of you tried Cologuard? Why doesn't everybody do this, except for those who are completely risk-intolerant?

As a guy who has had every hole violated, the recovery is cake.I'm getting scheduled for my first and they're violating just about every hole since I'm getting the endoscopy/colonoscopy combo meal.

10 years? With family history, 5 years here.I wouldn't use Cologuard.Went in for my first consultation a few weeks ago, and of course the doctor didn't forward any discussion about noninvasive alternatives such as Cologuard (stool sample screening). A colonscopy gives the doc all the info he needs. It's not that big a deal, you lose a few pounds, and you get a great nap. And if you are clean you wait another 10 years.
100% accuracy test vs 92% accuracy test.
Gimme the 100%.
That doesn't make any sense. My insurer (Cigna) didn't tell me that. Why wouldn't an insurer rather cover/pay for an inexpensive screening option rather than a more expensive procedure?Went in for my first consultation a few weeks ago, and of course the doctor didn't forward any discussion about noninvasive alternatives such as Cologuard (stool sample screening). I may be speaking out of my butt, but I was told that if you elect to do Cologuard and something comes up that was positive; you'd have to pay out of pocket for a proper colonoscopy.

Strongly encourage any and all to do planned colonoscopy as directed.
Went in for routine colonoscopy Jan 27. Found a polyp they couldn't remove traditional way and was sent for biopsy. Feb 10 was told it was cancer. Went in for CT scans on the 13th to see if the cancer had spread to lungs or liver. No indication of spreading. I was scheduled for surgery on Feb 24 and removed part of my descending colon. Two days in the hospital and another 7 days at home. Returned to work on March 7. Met with my oncologist yesterday the 12th. We determined that I would begin a combo of oral and IV chemo on the 24th of March. 4 cycles of chemo over 3 months.
Been a mind spinning couple of months.
Thanks. Recovery going great. Positive mindset. I am in the mood of just tell me what I need to do to beat this and I will get it done.Strongly encourage any and all to do planned colonoscopy as directed.
