UT alum and longtime University of Texas season ticket holder. I have seen every snap McCoy has taken either live or on TV, sometimes both and more than once.
As a college QB he is above average. He is surrounded great talent behind a superb offensive line, good receivers, and good RBs. The defense rarely gets to him and when they do he is elusive and can scramble well.
He is not fast enough to elude NFL defensive players easily. His arm strength is average and his accuracy and touch are well above average. He is really skinny but tough as nails but I feel like NFL caliber players would break him in half. He gives 110% and has a good head for the game. Now his major fault is that he can't throw under pressure, if someone gets in his face, he makes poor decisions and his throws are meek, it rarely happens behind his offensive line and like I said he is elusive, but on the rare occasion someone is on him, he sux. Because of this and his size and lack of a strong arm, I would say he will never be a prodcuctive fantasy football player. I hope I am wrong, because he has more heart than anyone and he is a class dude. Hopefully this offseason he has worked on throwing under pressure, I would say it is something naturally you can deal with, a la Tom Brady, rather than learn easily. This year will be interesting.
