RB was a clear area of need. Addai has been putrid dating back to the second half of the 2007 season. Brown gives them no worse than a time share RB and possibly an upgrade.
Watch and see the Colts move up in the 2nd to get their DT or LB. I could see them giving away a 2010 2nd and a 3rd this season to move to the top 10 of the 2nd round.
I got the position right at least. RB was a clear area of need. Addai has been putrid dating back to the second half of the 2007 season. Brown gives them no worse than a time share RB and possibly an upgrade.
At least it wasn't Laurinitas (who I didn't want at #27). At least he'll contribute - I hope. The clue that RB was a big priority was Polian's comments after the playoff loss - that Addai should have picked up the 1st down on 2nd and 3 on the last drive of the season.

I agree about the scheme question but I think Wells' toughness is something the Colts could use at RB. Addai is soft and isn't a physical runner. Wells isn't always consistent but most of the games I saw him he ran hard and I think that's something the Colts could use in the backfield. I agree Brown fits the scheme more but I think the Colts could still use a tougher RB. Maybe Brown will show that but I doubt Addai will.

When Dominic Rhodes is your best RB (and I think he was a better RB than Addai last season), I think it's clear RB is a pretty significant position that needs to be upgraded.

Well - clearly the Colts agree. It may be like 2006 - where the veteran will "start" - but the 2nd guy will get half the carries and have the better YPC. Colts need to get a WR (in the rounds 2 through 4), and two DTs (one UT, like Mitch King at the end of round 3 for example - and one NT in the 5th-6th round range) prospects for me to see this as a successful draft.
