Colts RB depth chart (1 Viewer)

Addai has never proved to be a model of health and with Donald Brown down for awhile this could be another sneaky look-ahead to hoard a flier who can emerge as a starter in a good offense. We thought it was Mike Hart then Chad Simpson passed him now it appears Hart is back in the picture. Can anyone shed some light?

I can't shed any official light but I have been wondering about this. I wonder if they aren't resting Brown to make sure he is really fully health because they plan to make use of him this year. Otherwise why not just IR him? The question then becomes are they resting him for the playoffs or are they resting so he will be 100% when they decide to rest Addai at the end of the season?

Addai is as healthy as any starting RB in the league right now and the fantasy playoffs will be over in 3 weeks. Get over it.

Now there is a strong possiblity the Colts will rest Addai, far greater than the chance of him getting hurt. In such a case, I'd imagine they'd also rest Brown if Brown is nursing an injury. If Brown was actually healthy, I think they'd want to get him a little experience but still sit him late in the game. Personally, I think they'll play their starters more than usual if their record is still perfect. Its all speculation though. Until you see them rest starters in one game, I wouldnt expect anything of the scrub RBs. By that time it will be week 16 for us. If you are still in the playoffs and have a team that actually would consider starting a scrub RB from the Colts, you probably got there with Addai. Its not a bad idea to handcuff Addai with a scrub. However the picture is way too cloudy to be counting on a third string RB in a championship game especially if you arent the Addai owner.

Whether Hart or Simpson gets the carries isnt just a matter of who is higher on the depth chart either. When they decide to turn to the bench, they can choose to get a guy experience or play someone just to get a closer look at him. They can choose to play both at different points in the game. Winning the game is obviously not the concern at that point in time.

OP, very good question.

I am an Addai owner and am concerned he will be rested as early as week 15. The rumor is that Donald Brown won't be back any time soon as he may have cracked ribs. That leaves Chad Simpson and Mike Hart. If the Colts go into rest mode, I highly doubt their game plans will be to have Curtis Painter chuck the ball 40-50 times a game. I'd imagine they'd try to work on their running game in advance of the playoffs. I'd think all Addai owners who are thin at RB would be smart to grab Chad Simpson.

I don't think there's any great value out of any of these guys outside of Addai. If the Colts do decide to go into rest mode, their running game will even be worse than what it is now.Out of the two guys you have listed, I guess I like Chad Simpson more. He's shown he can run hard and can break a tackle or two. With that said, Hart hasn't had a lot of playing time since last year's draft and if he's healthy, they may at least want to give him some time to at least see what he has when they're not playing for anything. If they go into garbage mode, I wouldn't want to start any of the Rb's.

So he had basically one injury riddled season, besides that he's been a solid FFL player and a very nice value play this year. Donald Brown hasnt exactly been show to be a model of health IMO

I haven't checked Addai's stats but it at least feels like to me it's been more than 1 season he's been dinged up. Donald Brown has been one of the most overrated players in the 250 going forward IMO. It's like he was this guy that was eventually supposed to go off and he never did because Addai wasn't injured, he was injured and probably the biggest reason, he's not better than Addai.

Stop believing the FBG company line. FBGs are so off on so many players, and the lemmings on this board just but the FBG mob think. Addai is a very good RB, who has been as healthy as any RB outside of last season.

Addais FBG socring ranking at the end of each of his seasons:RB11RB5RB39Currently RB7 for 2009played in:16 games15 games12 gamesand all 12 games this yearThe Addai is often injured thing is very misleading, and infact its looking like the RB39 season is the anomaly not the 3 other top 12 finishes

Chad Simpson is the RB to grab if you are looking for the backup if Addai goes down. Mike Hart will only get a carry or two, they aren't real happy with Hart if you look back he was cut earlier in the year I believe and then added again. And if you are in a league that gets return yards Simpson is not bad as he gets returns. I am adding him just as a holder in case the stars align and he does start.
