Colts sign LB Ernie Sims...former 9th overall pick (1 Viewer)

The Indianapolis Colts signed linebacker Ernie Sims according to Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star. Todd France, Sims’ agent, confirmed the signing.

Sims was a first-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2006, the ninth overall pick.

Lions fans want to chime in here?

3rd times the charm right?

He was a dog for Philly last year. Lion fans were right when they laughed at giving up a 5th rounder. We got robbed.

He's not very good. I liked his speed when the Eagles signed him but it didn't translate to the field. Plus he didn't seem like the smartest of players.

Speed is good though in Indy's system IMO. A lot of their guys don't really wrap up automatically but they swarm to the ball and get him on the ground that way.

He's really not very good at all, from a Lions fan who had to endure him for a few years. As has already been stated, he's fast, but he's not smart by any stretch. He tends to overrun plays, has little anticipation, and just plays with a total lack of discipline. If anything, his speed gets him into trouble, as he tries to make up for football smarts with raw athleticism.

I remember reading some Eagle's fans who were expecting him to live up to his draft position finally in their system, and from the sounds of it... he failed again. I really doubt he'll contribute much to the Colts.

Yeah, but Sims tends to run himself out of the play most of the time. He has no control and is undisciplined. He had a promising start to his career, but he has gotten worse and worse.
