Colts sign Ricky Proehl (1 Viewer)

Stokley doesn't appear to be recovering well enough. Could Proehl put up Stokley like number from a couple of years ago? Doubtful as the Colts seem to be running more and passing less this year. Ricky could be a spot starter if you are in need.

Very very happy to see this, one of my favorite players in the NFL.However, no, you will not likely see anything close to the 60/.6 Stokely put up per game in 2004, and you will likely never start him unless you are playing in a 32 team league.

What Proehl will do is play 15-20 snaps a game and make 1-2 clutch 3rd down and short catches that keep the ball moving down the field. Hes a great addition to this offense from an NFL standpoint, but not from a fantasy standpoint.

And before someone asks, they were planning on signing him before Clark's injury, so this signing is not in response to that, and you should not expect the Colts to go back to the 3 WR offense we saw in 2004. Not with how their 5 OLmen are pass blocking.

As someone else said, he could be gold if they rest their starters in week 16 and/or 17.

Possibly...but would a 37(?) yr old, very slow WR produce much as a starter with Jom Sorgi throwing to him, and without Wayne and Harrison drawing the defenses top DBs?

Well said on all counts.Great idea, bad timing. Shoulda done this a few years ago. Not that it's bad now, but....

Shoulda signed Seau a few years back too. Polian = fat tard.

any reason why the Giants didn't consider this once Toomer went down. I thought he'd be a good underneath compliment to Burress. Plus his folks have season tickets for the Giants.
