Colts Trade Rumor? (1 Viewer)

Anyone hear anything about a potential trade to the Colts? There is an article on ESPN frontpage detailing some cryptic tweets from Irsay about a blockbuster trade. MJD going to the Colts would end the Donald's hype (and make Jennings a star)

I think they've already come out and said it wasn't MJD and wasn't Wallace, but mostly likely a CB.

Why would the Jets trade their best player, who is still in the prime of his career? I know they are the Jets, but they would need a king's ransom to do that

Cause the Jets don't seem to care as much about Football as they do about making Headlines. Seriously though, don't know why Revis jumped in my head. I read Irsay's tweets and the words he choose seemed like he was dropping hints and my thoughts just turned to Revis. I don't think the Jets would ever actually do that trade (well maybe if it involved Luck and multiple first rounders, but then I'd doubt the Colts do that).

Remember there head coach comes from Baltimore Ravens the Ravens need a pass rusher to fill in for Suggs makes sense Cb Cary Williams turned down 3 ye contract extension last week!

As a Jets fan, I would be willing to trade Revis, Sanchez, Tebow, Holmes and picks...for just Luck. Revis has not made a peep since he has been in camp, and while the Jets may want to "trade high", I really can't see what the Colts could offer that would make it worth the Jets time. Irsay is like an "uneducated Dan Gilbert"...which is just flat-out scary. For all we know, he could be talking about acquiring the best punter or ILB3 in the league.

Who knows which player Irsay was reffering to but I have to wonder is his actions could be interpreted as tampering since holdout WR Mike Wallace was mentioned as a possibility for the basis of these rumors and he is in contract re-negotions.

So if a well-heeled owner is openly stating he is willing to open up his wallet to sign a high profile verteran player and a guy like Mike Wallace hears this and Wallace, or his agent, hears the speculation that Irsay could be hinting the player in question is Wallace then it would seem the negotiations with the Steelers would take a turn for the worse unless the Steelers opened up their wallets.

Irsay did not openly state who the player in question was but with the negotiations with Wallace at a critical and fragile stage it would seem that even if Wallace isn't the player Irsay is hinting at, that his comments could be construed as tampering if the negotiations with the Steelers grind to a halt and the Steelers filed a grievance.

I believe Irsay came out and said it wasn't Wallace.

For?
Wild rumors in Baltimore that it could be Freeney, giving the Ravens a pass rusher to replace Suggs. Giving up a promising cheap young player for an overpriced big name with declining performance sounds exactly like the opposite of an Ozzie Newsome deal. By which I mean, it sounds exactly like a Dan Synder deal.

I haven't seen that update. The rumors of Maurice-Jones-Drew don't seem to add up since I don't think the Jags would trade Mo-Jo to an upcoming team within their own division whereas the Mike Wallace theory adds up as his former OC Bruce Arians is the new OC in Indianapolis. I'm sure he has the inside scoop on what sort of a player Wallace is and he would know his charector. But I haven't seen the update you are referring to where Irsay said this rumor is not related to Mike Wallace.

Yeah, I think that'd be a bad trade. Don't think Freeney really fits into what Baltimore wants to do.

I could be wrong. It could have been someone reporting that it wasn't Wallace and not exactly Irsay saying it wasn't him.

Anyone think this could be for a veteran WR? Maybe Sydney Rice, or someone who is underachieving in their current role in a similar fashion.

Just a guess...

Inside source...

The Colts are getting Brady, MJD, Megatron, Gronk, Joe Thomas, Julius Peppers, Patrick Willis, and Revis in a multi-team blockbuster.

Link coming soon...

Turns out is was Vonte Davis. Not the huge blockbuster Irsay suggested, but still bigger then I thought it was going to be.
