I hate you with every fiber of my being and wish you would just vanish from this planet, and my memories of you would be replaced with images of dead animals, because that is better than any mental picture of you that I ever wasted brain cells on.

Wow. A roast that I don't at all care about. Good work, Comedy Central. Bill Murray could be on the dais and I'm not watching this.

 
Dont roasts really only work if people actually LIKE the person they're roasting (or can at least pretend to like them?)

I can't imagine anyone likes Bieber unless they're a 13 year old girl or on his payroll.

I have always thought the best roasts were the exact opposite of that. The ones with the hardest edge were fueled by either personal animosity (Chevy Chase) or resentment and jealousy (Bob Saget, Larry the Cable Guy).

Chevy Chase is allegedly an all-around miserable human being. Every roaster reminded him of that fact. As well as mentioning that he was washed up/drug addicted/fat and bald. It was so harsh that Comedy Central doesn't ever rerun it.

Saget and Larry have such zero "street cred" that every less successful comedian went up there with a lot of obvious anger.

And conversely, the most boring roast I have seen was with Jerry Stiller. No one really went after him because there is genuine respect for his talent, and he has the reputation of being a very nice man. Rosenne's roast was tame as well, for the same reasons.

 
I don't think Beebs knows what he's doing. Actually his people probably made this decision and they likely hate him. He will be done by the time this is over.

I think Artie Lang and Jeff Ross & Co. would actually be excited by an army of Beliebers assaulting them. They would enjoy it. Also, after Beebs is ripped to shred by a host of older noids and made to look like a fool his army might just shrink somewhat, again I think he will regret this. It almost feels like his people are setting him up.

The Bieber roast is scheduled for March 7.

But the parents of the 13 year old girls probably won't let them fly across the country to egg a comedian's car.

I just heard about this. Not sure if I can tune in for this one, but I really hope they good cast of roasters.

I'm sad this is what roasts have become. It has been downhill for a while now.

 
Taped last night. Jokes from it are starting to float in social media.

Kevin Hart: "Bieber has 10 million fans. Most of them are in middle schools or standing at least 500 feet away from one."

Ludacris: "Justin wants to be black so bad he's actually seen Kevin Hart's movies in theaters."

Ron Burgundy: "I always encourage people to stay classy. And what's classier than hanging out with Floyd Mayweather?"

Shaquille O'Neal: "Kevin Hart is the only celebrity with a star on the yellow brick road."

Martha Stewart: "I've come up with a ##### no one has heard of. You know, like Chris D'Elia."

See, this is what I don't get about these newer roasts. You give a comedian 5-7 minutes to skewer someone, and they spend 80% insulting their fellow comics. That's not what I paid for, so to speak. CC has no clue how these things work.

 
at least there is some talent on the dais-- Hannibal Buress, Jeff Ross, Natasha Leggero, Pete Davidson (SNL guy, I haven't seen any standup but I'm sure he'll do fine), and Chris D'elia (he's a funny dude).

might not be too bad...though I'm not sure wtf martha stewart is doing up there

 
There's always one or two WTF? people up on these things. That Jersey show ########, Ice-T and Farah Fawcett from prior roasts come to mind.

Agree. One thing that does bug me is the non-comedian roasters. Does anyone really think that Shaq, Martha Stewart or Beiber are writing their own material? I guess having the joke come from Martha can make it a little more funny but in general I'd rather see comedian's up there doing their own jokes.
