Commissioner needs some Auction options (1 Viewer)

So I run a slow auction, usually theres a max of 35 players up for bid at a time (16 teams) and the timer is set for 1 day. We use proxy bids and the timer does not reset after higher bidder changes which leads to sniping. Some of the owners are frustrated by the sniping and I said I would look into adjusting it.

Option 1 would be to set the timer to reset after higher bidder is changed but this would cause some players to be up for bid for days, something that I already know members won't like

Option 2 would be to adjust timer to 12 hrs instead of 1 day and reset after higher bidder change, problem is we have a rule that a player can't come off the board starting at 12 am ET - 10 am ET to prevent people sneaking players off while the league sleeps.

Was thinking of trying to set it to Live auction where it runs for a day but after looking it over I'm sure it wouldn't work well.

Is there any options anybody else can think of?

Thanks

Not trying to sound mean. But, the easiest solution is to put it to a league vote. If 10 of the 12 owners want to do Option 1, it's probably better that the other two teams adjust or find a new league.

Can't please all the owners all the time.

I've done slow auctions, most with the Addicts leagues. These leagues use proxy style (EBay bidding) and they work really well. EBay style means players usually last a few days at most. A full slow auction lasts two weeks if guys nominate 1 player per day for the first week and 2 players per day the second week.

we use ebay style now and it works great. What would be awesome is if there was a way for just a small percentage of the timer to increase after highest bidder change instead of reseting all the way.

You could make that suggestion to MFL, Maybe they will impleme..............................never mind.

If you have ebay style already, what is the issue? Are people not bidding on player A because of having funds tied up in player B? Or just getting upset someone else outbid them? Or something else?
