my guess is that Petty plays a few shows out here in mid may before he plays bottle rock, at least I'm hoping that he does.
He's playing Jazzfest in New Orleans on April 30

Has anyone seen Queen with Adam Lambert? Tickets go on sale 1/31/17 and I am thinking about it. I checked out some of it on youtube and I cant make up my mind. This would probably turn in to a pricey night if we go. Its a long enough drive that I would be looking at staying at a hotel within walking distance, meal, drinks etc....

It would be an easier decision if it was closer to home. I am just not sure the show is worth the extra cost.

Saw them on the last tour a few years ago.  I'm not a huge Queen fan, but the show was very good - Lambert did a good job and I would recommend it.  If I was a fan, I'd go back this year, but since I'm not and the dates around here have conflicting shows I'd rather see, I'm out.

Lumineers put on a great show last night in Cincinnati.

Anyone going to u2 this summer.  My wife really wants to go and Louisville goes on sale Friday.  Should learn by now to join the fan clubs to get presale tickets.

Looking for a ticket to see Victor Wooten in Annapolis on 3/1 at Ramshead. Anyone with an extra or ideas how to score a single, please PM me.

Just bought 4 for MMJ w/ Gary Clark Jr. at Forrest Hills Stadium in Queens. Hope my wife doesn't mind me skipping town for a weekend...
Ugh, will have to sell these, lax tourney in MD that weekend. Any NYC guys interested? Great seats.

Got tickets for Lady Antebellum at the Hollywood Bowl on June 3rd.  Seen them once before at Staples and was very pleasantly surprised.   May-October I try to get to as many good shows at the Hollywood Bowl, Santa Barbara Bowl, or Greek Theater as I can.  Love summer outdoor concerts at those venues.

Trying for Lady Gaga tickets for her Dallas show in December. Going to NYC in May and will probably go see Billy Joel at MSG since he'll be there while we're in town.

Got tickets to Sturgill Simpson in September at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD - one of my favorite venues. Will probably see Galactic next month at the 930 club, they are playing two nights.

Three nights in June for Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit at the Beacon were added to our summer concert tour.

Completely whiffed (forgot) on Sturgill Simpson at Radio City though.

Going to line up Stapleton next week, then I think we have a loaded itinerary.

Check Stubhub. There are 2 tickets there now for that show (not mine).
Awesome, thanks. I pounced on them. Only needed one but had to buy two. Front row, right in the flying sweat zone. Can't wait.

Anyone need a single to see Victor Wooten in Annapolis, March 1? You get to sit next to a fellow FBG in the front row, and watch Victor's alien prowess.

I know how much #### Dave Matthews fans get around here, but my wife loves him. Me less so, but I've always enjoyed his shows. Anyway we've got 3 Dave & Tim Reynolds acoustic shows on the beach here later this week. Barcelo resort in Riviera Maya.

Bunch of friends are going to the Doheny Blues Festival.  May 20-21.  Several new acts added today.  Mavis Staples, Joe Walsh.  More to come.  I'll be there - it's usually a great party on the beach..

2017 Line up

Somebody recommended Portugal. The Man to me. Coming to So Cal in a week. Hard to tell with what I see on YouTube. Some talent for sure but don't know how they would be live.  Any FBG thumbs up or down?

Billy Joel Setlist (March 3rd, 2017)

Saw "The Franchise" (Billy Joel) at MSG on Friday as a Christmas gift my wife and I gave each other.  Not my first time seeing Billy, having first seen him about 20+ years ago as the first concert with said wife, then on the 12 night Garden run in 2006 plus his last Jazz Fest appearance a few years ago.  At this point, we know he is going to shuffle us through nearly all of the hits (citing album and year before some of them) and you'll have a great time singing along to your favorites.

No opening act, but Friday's show did have a few guest appearances.  First, a few members of The Young Rascals showed up for "Good Lovin'" which was really good.  Next, Billy had the daughter of one of his crew members playing flute on her 18th birthday along with Mark Riviera for "She's Always A Woman".  But lastly, the best guest was John Cougar Mellencamp appearing as he led Billy and the band through "Authority Song".  Aside from the decent guest appearances, the crowd selected songs worked in my favor towards ones I like with "Vienna" over "Summer Highland Falls" and "Downeaster' Alexa" over "Keeping The Faith".

Still would recommend if you have never seen him before or have $125 burning a hole in your wallet for a ticket (and that is for 200 level low row seats one section from the stage line), but would not consider the show a "must see".  For those of you considering playing the "see if ticket prices drop on StubHub" game, this run is still going strong and I have not seen any real benefit from that strategy over the past year as I have been watching game day resales, so hitting the box office on sale is still the way to go.

Never seen him and want to.  Just hate stadium shows so will pass in LA I think..

Agree that a stadium show would be a non-starter (unless there was a firesale on the resell market).

And for reference, my "not a must see" comment would be applicable if someone had already seen him and was considering seeing him another time.  Still worthwhile to catch him for the 1st time if you are a fan, but agree that I would not want that to be a stadium/festival show.

I like their "Evil Friends" album. Never seen them live. They were announced today as part of the Field Trip festival here in Toronto, which I may go to  (Broken Social Scene and Phoenix headlining).

If any FBGs were considering the Foreigner/Cheap Trick/Jason Bonham Led Zep Experience combo, Live Nation has a ticket deal - available for a limited time.

$19.77 for lawn tickets (to commemorate the 40th year since their debut albums), with parking - look for the deal on your venue page with this show.

Bought tickets for Depeche Mode this summer. Going to see them twice - once in Detroit and once in Austin. Tickets are cheap - like $25-30 for lawn.

Seeing Depeche Mode here in Tampa in September.  I've seen them twice before and they put on a great show.

Just got back from seeing Stapleton. Absolutely freaking incredible.
Huge regret not seeing him at Santa Barbara Bowl last year.  Praying that he's opening for Petty on his west coast swing. I joined the fan club just to get tickets to the show, but no dates/cities yet.  Whiskey and You is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard.

We were lucky last summer to get one of the few Stapleton/Isbell shed shows here on the East Coast last year.

I did whiff on catching Stapleton OPEN for Isbell at the Ryman back in 2014, but I was buying tix resale as I missed the onsale.

Also missed Sturgill Simpson opening for Isbell at the same venue in 2015.  No offense to "Hooray for the Riff Raff" and their fans, but I picked the wrong opener on the four night run for when I did hit the box office on sale.
