Just wanted to show him a little love today - he's had a pretty tough go of it since he retired. Chuck was my favorite Vike starting in about '75 (I was eight) - he was a lot of fun to watch. Take a look at his numbers from about '75 to '78, too - we're talking fantasy MVP.

For some reason, his football card was incredibly tough to get when I was a kid...the card with the little football with "1,000 yards" on it.

Well that was a weird memory. Congratulations Chuck!

agreed. I'm a life-long Lions fan but Chuck Foreman was my favorite player in the league.

I remember seeing his college highlights when he was drafted on the Bud Grant show... Also remember in 75 when he and OJ were fighting for the Triple crown in football--lead league in rushing, TDs, and scoring--OJ beat him but it was a great battle. He reinvented the RB position in terms of being the first receiving back; guys like Marshall Faulk and Westbrook owe a lot to Foreman. In the 60s and 70s a RB was supposed to run straight ahead and block when he wasn't running. He led the league in receiving a couple of years as a RB.
