Congratulations Cadillac Williams (1 Viewer)

If there's ever somebody to pull for in the NFL, Caddy's gotta be one of them. I can't remember anyone ever suffering the types of injuries he's had repeatedly and battling through so much rehab to get back out on the field again. After last year, I would have NEVER thought he'd be on the field again. Not only did he rehab (yet again) and get into playing shape, he took the starting job and actually did remarkably well considering.

191 carries for 781 yards (4.1 ypc) and 4 TDs (his best YPC since his rookie year) and another 3 TDs on 25 catches for 184 yards.

When you take into account the team he played for and the fact he shouldn't be remotely close to 100% of his former self, I'm incredibly impressed. As a Derrick Ward owner in a couple of leagues, I was initially a little disappointed, but now I can't help but be happy for him. Most of all, I'm so glad he made it through the year without suffering any major injuries or setbacks. I know he'll be turning 28 and we'll never get to see what he could have been, but I hope he still has a few more years left to get out on the field and do what he obviously loves doing.

Congrats, Caddy!! :lmao:

Almost single-handedly carried the Bucs in overtime last week. Incredible energy and will, and he should go to the clubhouse as the presumptive starter in 2010. If the Saints get bounced from the playoffs because they can't stop the run, give Caddy the assist.

The most impressive thing about him is his conditioning and mental toughness. He looked as good in week 16 as he did in week 1, and he looked as good at the end of games as he did at the beginning. The Tampa beat writers didnt even factor him into the RB picture in July. The hard work to come all the way back from his injuries is one thing, but the determination to do it again and again, often after suffering the injury very soon after his return from the previous one, shows the kind of attitude that is admirable in any endeavor, and one that is very rare. Another player that shared this strong belief in himself is Frank Gore, and like Gore, Caddy runs angry and hot any time he touches the ball and always provides a strong example of playing every play like it was your last.

Yes, that was definitely nice to see. Everyone thought Ward would have a huge year in the beginning, but Caddy made it all the way back (and remained there). Great story.

Terry Allen fits this description I think. But definitely agree with your thoughts on Caddy.

Love Caddy. So easy to root for. He's still relatively young at 26 so he could have a few productive years left in him.

Why did you jinx him? He's got a week left in the season!

I hope he makes it through the last game. Easy to root for the guy. He's been toughing out the injuries for a couple years now. I'd really like to see him do well the rest of his career.

Very curious to see what happens to him when his contract ends this season. I would love for the Bucs to keep him & Ward. Caddy could be one of the top backs in the league, but wont get paid like it due to his injury history.

wont he become an RFA if there's no new CBA?

Already have him on my radar for next year. He will bring great value in an auction format early into the auction as guys hold tight to their money. I could see him putting up decent # 2 numbers for your team next year. He and his running mate from college R. Brown sure have taken a beating in a few short years.

Don't forget, the Bucs will also have back G Aaron Sears who was looking like an elite player until he went into depression. The details are still sketchy on what the exact issue was, but he apparently is back with the team. They put him on IR when he returned though, because he wasn't in playing shape.

And, yes he will be a RFA if no CBA is reached. Pretty much all speculation at this point is with an asterisk regarding the CBA.

He's been a huge positive influence in the clubhouse also...which is important with the departure of Derrick Brooks and Warrick Dunn.

His enthusiasm is contagious...during the postgame interview last week with Freeman on Buc radio, you could hear him in the background whooping. Freeman talked about it and said he was a guy that drove him to work harder.

I've always thought he was a decent back that IF he could stay healthy, could be a top 10 or so one. But he has horrible luck...
