I like Freeman at this point, and think he and Locker represent the most upside. Since he's the one who already has the starting job and has shown more in the past, I'll take him.

Manning is strictly a backup fantasy QB at this point. There's no way you can take him as your starting dynasty QB. Unless your plan is to win one season and hand over your entry fee for the next decade.

If I wait long enough and Peyton is still here, I have no problem starting him for now and getting a QB similar to the rest of this group in a year or two. This tier is fairly easily replaceable in most leagues. Take the guy who has the best chance to be top 3 now, get a new guy later.ETA: besides, this is QB15, so probably not being drafted to start unless you have Luck or RG3 already.

Exactly. Outside of the top 3-5 QBs you are balancing longevity with productivity. No reason that both need to come from the same player.

In a startup who would you rather have?

RG3 and Manning + the elite RB or WR/TE you drafted when Brees and Brady went off the board.

Or Brees and Locker + a lesser player drafted when team 1 takes RG3?
