Consensus Top 350 Albums of All-Time: 180. Rust Never Sleeps – Neil Young and Crazy Horse (162 Viewers)

347 (tie). Magical Mystery Tour – The Beatles (76 points)

Jeb #7
@timschochet #59

Magical Mystery Tour is a record by the English rock band the Beatles that was released as a double EP in the United Kingdom and an LP in the United States. It includes the soundtrack to the 1967 television film of the same title.

In their new songs, the Beatles continued the studio experimentation that had typified Sgt. Pepper and the psychedelic sound they had introduced in 1966 with Revolver. Author Mark Hertsgaard highlights "I Am the Walrus" as the fulfilment of the band's "guiding principle" during the sessions – namely to experiment and be "different"

428. Low End Theory – A Tribe Called Quest (Nick V ranked #7)
I had The Low End Theory ranked #16 (55 points).
This has been corrected. Someone else, in addition to you, had also selected it with "The" so it was already in the Top 350, but now it's even higher.

@Nick Vermeil's highest ranked album not to make the playlist:

476. There's Nothing Wrong With Love - Built to Spill
Nice.

There's Nothing Wrong With Love by Built to Spill was my 15-pointer.

Yes it actually made the Top 350 with both of you taking it - I just looked at his sheet wrong. The album I wanted to list was right below it on Nick's list.

Let's try this one more time @Nick Vermeil 's highest ranked album not to qualify is:

476. Evil Friends - Portugal, The Man
Love this album. I’m going to have to think of which song would represent.

I won't say where, but I was other that had The Lower End Theory ranked.

381. The Sky is Crying – Stevie Ray Vaughn (Psychopav ranked #2)
)
Well it didn't take long for me to be surprised. With so many unique albums on my list I guess I shouldn't be.

For anyone who hasn't heard it, SRV's version of Little Wing is a phenomenal track.
I didn't participate because there was no way I was getting to 70 (that changes by the hour depending on the anxiety of the moment). SRV will always have a special place to me and The Sky is Crying or Texas Flood belongs on "a list" somewhere, but these are tough and top 70 is a "big term." I'm glad it got a call out though.

349 (tie). Bad Brains – Bad Brains (76 points)

@SayChowda #28
@ConstruxBoy #38

Bad Brains (also known as The Yellow Tape or Attitude: The ROIR Sessions) is the first studio album by American rock band Bad Brains. Recorded in 1981 and released on the cassette-only label ROIR on February 5, 1982, many fans refer to it as "The Yellow Tape" because of its yellow packaging.
High-five @ConstruxBoy !!!

For those that don't know them, they are one of the more influential bands in the punk / hardcore genre. This album came out in 1982.

Breakfast in America is the sixth studio album by the English rock band Supertramp, released on 16 March 1979, by A&M Records. It was recorded from May to December 1978 at The Village Recorder in Los Angeles. It spawned three US Billboard Hot 100 hit singles: "The Logical Song" (No. 6), "Goodbye Stranger" (No. 15), and "Take the Long Way Home" (No. 10). In the UK, "The Logical Song" and the title track were both top 10 hits, the only two the group had in their native country.

I played the heck out of this one when it came out. One of my sentimental favorites.

I took my then 29 year old step-son to see a touring version and it was his first live theater show. He is now hooked on live theater and still talks about how good the show and music were & how that reeled him in. Yvonne Elliman's version of I Don't Know How To Love Him has to remain the best.

I had no idea. Thanks, I learned something new today! I am a big fan of Fulton Sheen and I might just have to check this out!

428. Dreamboat Annie - Heart (Mrs. R ranked #7)
This one just missed for me, but very easily could have made my top 70.
396. The Hurting – Tears for Fears (Randal Thor ranked #5)
And this was #70 for me.

Dreamboat Annie was on 5 other lists, in fact, but for some reason Mrs. R selection wasn't complied in even though it was identified and spelled correctly.

@Mrs. R's highest ranked album not to appear is

461. Be Yourself Tonight - The Eurythmics

after finding another error (2 people took "White Album" instead of "The White Album" and deleting one duplicated line we're down to 351 songs on the Top 360.
Try not to drive yourself crazy over this stuff, man. We can always change the final list if need be.

Preemptive thanks to you and @kupcho1 for your work on this.

Kupcho, use the title track from "We're An American Band" if you're building a playlist of the near misses.

420. We Are Not Alone – Breaking Benjamin (Blocked Punt ranked #6)
I am both shocked and I get it. Tons of great better known albums out there and it's only 20 years old. In a younger group it might have gotten more than 1 vote but here we are.

I might recommend Sooner or Later but since I don't know if you guys have ever heard them you can go listen their smash hit So Cold. The acoustic version is very good as well.

Did anyone go with The Beatles?
Well I took the first ones in as The White Album, and I asked for it to be identified that way. Some people did identify it as “the Beatles” and that is correct but I would change it. I had to scrub most lists as they came in and fixed a lot an errors but obviously missed a lot also.
@kupcho1 also scrubbed them after I took them in a few times. The spreadsheet is tremendous but the human error is a real thing - many many by me.

The Zeppelin albums (sorry for spotlighting) were such a pain in the *** to get them all identified the same way.

428. Dreamboat Annie - Heart (Mrs. R ranked #7)

447. Curtis – Curtis Mayfield (Don Quixote ranked #8)

These are surprising one vote getters.
I forget exactly when Dreamboat Annie got trimmed off my list, but I recall why it got axed. Heart is one of those bands in which I love 5-10 songs and like a handful more, but everything else that's entered my orbit is an auto-skip. In a top album list this tight, that's not going to make the cut. I couldn't tell you which songs on here are auto-skips just looking at the track listing, but...they're there. The highs are REAL high though.
I'm stunned. It never occurred to me that this wouldn't make the list. And for me, there are no skips on this album. I can still remember the first time I heard this.

I guess my selection will be "Soul of the Sea". It's probobly one of Mac's autoskips. Suck it. Nancy's guitars are working for me. @KarmaPolice

He wanted a different version. He asked for a Special London edition and the others were Broadway or put under that if not identified.

This one I’m going to leave since we’re at end of rankings - if Val wanted this one or if someone else wanted the London one, we’ll just all assume it would be a little higher or would drop out. But on this one I’m not going back. No offense intended to any of the involved parties.

Kupcho, use the title track from "We're An American Band" if you're building a playlist of the near misses.
I can see the playlist. I note that there are 7 different contributors, but I'm not one of them. @KarmaPolice has locked me out for previous bad behavior.
If someone can add Jamie T's Sheila from Panic Prevention I'd be much obliged. Here it is again so you don't have to search the thread

I'd stick with one also. I'd recommend "How Much More" or "This Town" by The Go-Go's, who I'm surprised didn't get any votes for top seventy anywhere else. I know ilov80s said something to the effect that he might have, but I'm still a little surprised. In fact, I deleted a comment earlier about my number one not getting any other votes because I was a bit sure it would.

Oh well. No stunner. Mild surprise. Especially with Zegras11 lurking around the joint.
And right back at you that I thought you might have ranked RAM by Daft Punk. Perhaps you have an earlier album of theirs.

I'm maybe a touch surprised RAM didn't get more love. I do have at least one earlier album of theirs on my list, but like my top one that didn't hit the list, the earlier albums are better

I had the London edition. Like I did for at least one other similar album, I didn't include that in the title, but in the artist ("Orignal London Concept Album"). Sorry if I screwed anything up by listing it this way.

No he didn't. He asked for the concept album, which I also did. (That's why I sent you notes.) Since we've been doing this for so long, we're pretty sure that Tim also wants the concept album.

Sorry. I didn't want to put concept album in the title line because searching would be a nightmare.

Edit: I see Psychopav also wanted the concept album. No one really needs to hear Ted Neely. Mr R ruined that forever when he said, "The Tool is in the Garden." Every time I see that scene, I roll out.
