Considering David Johnson for 1.01 + WR (1 Viewer)

This one is a bit weird, as the league inflates RB scoring quite a bit compared to any other I've been in. David Johnson was the #1 player in the league by a decent margin (494 pts on the year), and the top WRs scored in the low 300's, for reference.

12 Team 1PPR for all players, Rushing yards are 0.15 each, Receiving yards are 0.1 each, rushing attempts give you .08 each.

David Johnson is by far my star player, and my team is a bit lacking outside of him. My WRs and RBs are weak, with the highlights being Ameer Abdullah and Derrick Henry in the wings. I have the 1.05 naturally and picked up a bunch of extra 2nd rounders during the season.

The person with the 1.01 has it on the trade block, so I went big and shot over this offer:

I give: David Johnson

I get: 1.01, Deandre Hopkins, Sammy Watkins

They countered with Sammy Waktins and the 1.01, but I don't love Watkins, so I countered with:

I give: David Johnson, Tajae Sharp

I get: 1.01, DeAndre Hopkins, TJ Yeldon

----

Given the skewed RB scoring, I'm worried that a) I shouldn't be selling David Johnson at all and b) am I getting enough back for the run-away #1 player in the league?

I'd be taking Fournette with the 1.01, and I do like Fournette, so this definitely feels worth it for me, but I'm having a hard time judging this due to the weirder scoring setup.

I'm also working to get the 1.02 from a replacement owner with a package of Derrick Henry, 2nd rounders, and my first next year with the goal of coming out of the draft with 1.01 (Fournette), 1.02 (McCaffrey), and 1.05 (Mixon/Cook/Davis).

Grateful for any opinions people have.

Sharpe and Yeldon don't hold much value.

So that makes it DJ for 1.01 & Hopkins. Which would make it a "no" for me.

I agree with Andy.  While I like the idea of moving David Johnson for a wealth of talent if he is wasting away on your roster, you need a big and I mean very big haul to move him away.  You want to be patient if you are thinking of moving Johnson.  Otherwise, see how the draft goes and go from there.  Unless he gets run over by a truck his value should be just as high 2 months from now.

Good points, both. I ended up revoking the offer and sending an explanation to try to keep the dialogue open for the future. Got a bit of rookie fever as most do this time of year. Really have to get more for the #1 guy in the league and, as Warhogs said, his value isn't likely to go down anytime soon.

I agree with the group.  David Johnson has much more value than what you are getting in the offers.  No reason to rush a move.  Don't be taken with the "shiny new toy" when you have a workhorse stud in the toy chest.
