Says something about how Zygi is purposely trying to run the team into the ground because he wants to abandon the fans so he can move the team.

What is the Minny fans take on this? Does it actually have wings?

I'm concerned because I have C. Taylor and about half of their linebacking corps on my team and if the team ain't getting any better, and the owner won't let them get better...I may wanna move said players off my roster.

:goodposting: :bs:

Zygi is going to tear off the latex mask in a press conference and reveal that he was really Red McCombs all along.

Or a sinister little "Mini Zygi" is gonna jump out of his a-z-z and run around in circles shreaking until they agree to build them a new stadium.

I am still trying to figure our what viking fans wanted them to do this offseason, there really wasn't much out there to work with. And as for them trying to sabotage the team, thats just stupid imo, childress was considered a top coaching candidate when he was hired, it just is looking like he is not one.

I don't know if Minny fans are accusing Childress. From the article it sounds like Zygi is running the show and Childress is disciplined enough to his employer that he is willing to work with what ever said employer is willing to give him.He can't be a great coach if he's not getting players that can do the job. They need defensive help, they need WR's, they need a QB, and could use a RB unless Taylor, Moore, and Fason can carry the load...which they haven't been able to do so far. They have a solid O-line that needs to gel. But other than Wade, what have they done to try to improve themselves? If anything they are indeed declining.

If he is trying to run the team into the ground, why is he spending 50 million on Steve Hutchinson instead of guys like Leonard Davis and Derrick Dockery?

As a Vikings fan:If it does have wings, my last concern is C. Taylor or the LBs. I lost the North Stars to Dallas years ago, Sundays wouldn't be the same without the Minnesota Vikings (even with FF). Don't get me wrong, I love the NFL and watching non-Viking games, but there is just something about watching the team you grew up with.

Warpig: I'm not trying to dog on you, just giving my 2 cents.

No problem. I understand. I was a Browns fan as a "yoot".I am interested in the homer thoughts...I just threw in my FF info for extra info.

I haven't heard very much positive stuff with the current situation.

People may not like him, but I don't think you can argue that he's doing a better job than Red did, or at least it appears he's more committed to the teams' success, rather than running it like a car dealership where the bottom line is ALL that matters.

I said this two weeks ago. He's PO'd that the State, County, and City officials haven't given him a new stadium.

Another season like they had last year and they'll have ZERO momentum for a stadium. And they cannot stay in the Metrodump.

And he should be. If a city of 100,000 people (Green Bay) can do this there is no reason Minn. can't. It is a valid reason to move a team.Minnesota lost the Lakers in Basketball years ago also.

Tom Powers has NEVER, EVER written anything positive about the organization...so I wouldn't believe one word of his stupidity!! :hot:

I was more saying ziigy made moves last season with the coach and the players he brought in, this year I just don't see alot of free agents that could really make a huge difference besides the top guys who cost a bunch of money which they are probably not worth it, plus the offseason is far from over. Who have they lost that is going to make them worse than last year? Johnson, nap harris, smoot? All those guys were a joke last year..Like another poster said this writer is never going to write anything good about the vikes.

I have seen nothing from Wilf/Childress to suggest that they are anywhere near competent enough to pull off something this difficult and complicated. The killing of fan interest in the team is completely accidental.

Anyone who has read anything he has written, knows he's a complete idiot. It's right up there with Shooter and his little birdies. :nerd:

The Twin Cities has some of the worst sport columnists around. The only writer worth his weight in either paper is the Trib's beat writer, Kevin Seifert.

I believe this conspiracy theory has already been covered in the hit 1989 movie - Major League.
I can see the scene now...Wilf: This is our list of Free Agents we will be pursuing this year.Speilman: I haven't heard of half of these guys.Childress: This guy's dead.Wilf: Well cross him off the list then.

VERY  Although, Sean Jensen, the Pioneer Press' bear writer isn't that bad either.KFAN had a great writer for their website a couple of years ago (Dot Com Tom) and lost him to a paper covering college football.

Actualy Powers is not as bad as Ruesse. Powers has been supportive of the teams moves in the past, I just dont think there is anything recent for him to be supportive of.

The people of Minnesota have made it clear that they do not support a stadium deal that is paid for primarily through thier taxes. The represenatives in goverment have to represent the people in that. That was one of the things I really liked about Jesse Ventura when he was saying "what part of no do you not understand?" in regards to the stadium proposals that required more taxes.

As far as free agency this year I agree the moves have been specious. What they paid Shiancoe makes no sense whatsoever. They seem to be just filling cap space with these signings for this year and perhaps look to make a splash in FA next year if more attractive players come available.

The difference between this season and the last 2 is that the Vikings were not at a financial advantage over most of the teams in terms of what they could offer to players. So I can somewhat agree with the reasoning behind sitting back in FA this year. However the contract they gave the Shiancoe is still going to be too much in salary in following seasons even with so much money up front. How will his play justify it? Unless there are incentives in the contract I do not know about. Or maybe Shiancoe will prove to be a lot better player than anything he has shown so far in the league?

I think the majority of Eagles fans could have told you how that one would turn out.
