Was the cause of death of the floating people all the same?

Did they drown?

Did they suffocate?

Did they burn to death?

Did the people tread water before drowning?

Was there something preventing the people from getting back on the ship before drowning or did they prefer to stay in the water?

Did the people drown in the ocean or while on the ship?

Did everyone decide to go swimming, then the ladder broke preventing them from getting back on the ship?

A king dies. Two men claim to be the long-lost son of the king and rightful heir to the throne. A wise man proposes a test to figure out who is the real heir. One of the purported heirs agrees to the test, the other declines. The wise man identifies the man who refused to take the test as the true heir.

So what's the question here? Is it: How did the wise man know? Is it: What was the test? Is it something else?
