Corey Dillion is the most undervalued rb in FF (1 Viewer)

Don't get me wrong L.Maroney is a stud in the making. But, expect to see C.Dillon come smoking out of the gate this week to prove all the critics wrong.

If Maroney is out this week I look for Dillon the go for 100 yds and 2td's.

With the Pat's schedule vs the run I look for Dillon to have 750-900 yds and 12-15 td's.

Dillon is a solid #2 rb. And a great #3 rb.

If he stays healthy, and if he holds off Maroney. That's a lot to ask for a 32 year old, declining, injury-prone RB.

:goodposting:

I'll take an older guy that's been there before as opposed to a rookie any day of the week.

Shocked at how high some rookie RB's have been drafted this year over proven vets.

Go Corey !

Name one rookie RB not named Reggie that has been drafted over the vets.

I have seen Addai drafted before Rhodes in almost every draft.Anything else?
You said proven vets. Rhodes is not proven. He's a career backup. And they're both being drafted in the 6th round on average...I don't consider 7 picks to be statistically significant enough to say "almost every draft".Edit to add: And if that's all you can find...is the rookie being drafted earlier in the same round as the unproven, mediocre backup, then that just proves my point.

As a Pats' homer, I'm not so sure that Dillon's gonna' pile up the yardage, and I'm not so sure that he'll stay healthy enough to pile up the TDs either.

Dillon looks better this year than he did last year (when he was injured) but he's nowhere near what he was in '04... he's just slower.

And also consider that he's already been dinged up twice in the preseason (shoulder vs. ATL, eye/face vs. WAS) and it just doesn't look promising for Corey to handle a full workload.

Still, I agree that he'll have a good game in week 1 vs. BUF. Maroney isn't likely to play and Dillon's as healthy as he'll be all season.

I also like Dillon this year. He's healthy, and motivated. Maroney being hurt already does not spell well for the rookie. How many rookie RB's have we seen run out of gas mid season or get hurt. Dillon maybe the best value at RB this year. He's a value that hards to beat in the 4th round of later of FF drafts :banned:

your basically projecting dillon to repeat his numbers from last season, which wouldn't be proving any critics wrong... the yardage seems right, but 12-15 tds is a little high IMHO. the ceiling should be set to around 10 with the absolute ceiling set to 12. dillon has scored 12 rushing TDs the past 2 season as the pat's primary RB (345 rushes in 04 and 208 in his injury plagued 05 season), but this year he'll have maroney and faulk to contend with for carries... i'm projecting about the same amount of touches this season as last (200) so while 12 TDs is possible, it's not likely going hapeen... note: patrick pass looks like he'll miss much of the season, which is why i set dillon's TD ceiling to 10 instead of 7 or 8

furthermore, you never know how bellichek will use these guys... dillon may explode out of the gate, but maroney could very well get the lion's share of the carries the next game due to a better match up... you just never know

I've got him, and I waffle daily from trying to trade him to thinking he may be solid as my RB2 behind LJ. I missed getting Maroney by one pick, so I'm not pumped about the long term situation. Everybody's talking about Dillon gettin injured, but right now it's Maroney who's dinged. Having a brace on the knee is not a good thing - I don't care what they say. Therefore, I'm inclined to ride out the Dillon train for as long as I can but am trying to shore up depth (have T. Bell, Benson, Lundy) to make sure I'm OK if he goes down in any given week. Lots of ifs, but I agree with OP - if healthy, he could outproduce a lot of RB1's drafted much earlier.

maroney practiced this week despite the injury report submitted by NE... obviously, his injury is not as serious as NE would like to convey...RB's run out of gas if they are overworked the first half of the season... with dillon, maroney, and faulk in the backfield, no one should be running out of gas in NE... all the more reason dillon's numbers will be limited

I agree. I'm not saying Dillon will be a #1 like in past years. But, I think he is a td machine this year that will put up around 800 yds.I think he will have a role similar to that of Mike Anderson in Denver last year.
