Look at it this way: the best player in the CFL cant play on the worst NFL team. How does timesing that by 50 improve the odds? The Saints would dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides and hence own the game.

As in the other thread, it is dependant upon which rules you are playing the game. Using NFL rules, I would say little to no chance does a CFL team win against the NFL (1 out of 10 games).

Under CFL rules, I would give our Canadian brethern a better chance - more so if the NFL team has no time to prepare or practice using the CFL rules. But in the end I think the NFL team wins at least 7 of these games in a 10 game series.

I like your point.

The worst NFL team would DEMOLISH the best CFL team, regardless of the rules used. It would be a debaucle.

I live in Canada and can state, with the utmost confidence that the best CFL team in history couldn't have beated the Texans once in 50 games last year.

On a related note, I was thinking about what would happen if Rasta came up here for a season. I concluded that he would score a lot of touchdowns and run over linebackers. I hope he comes up here, and he will like it too, the weed is top quality.

I knew a guy who played on the offensive line for a CFL team. He said they would have had a shot handling a good college team's defensive line but they would have got killed by an NFL defensive line. They would have been just so much faster, bigger and stronger.

Even if the bad NFL team had a lousy QB they could just hand the ball off all day. Similarly even if the good CFL team had a great QB he would just be getting killed all day.

Not with Canadian rules. My Alouettes would beat any NCAA team. That makes no doubt but they wouldn't beat the worst NFL team. If they played with NFL rules, the Als would get destroyed. If they played in CFL rules, the NFL players might have problems at the beginning but IMO they would win a tight game.

Edit: It would only be a tight game because the NFL players would have a bit of difficulty to adapt. Make them play 5 CFL games and they'd win easily.

I don't know. I don't think it would be that hard to adapt. The NFL team would just have to play in nickel or dime, that's all, and they'd have to run their 2 minute or shotgun offense.

Read my whole post. If they played one game, the CFL team wouldn't get litterally demolished. They'd get beaten by 10-14 points. The second one would be a massacre though.

What does this poll prove?

It proves that there are 8 apes that know how to use a keyboard.
It also proves just how much of an arrogant ##### you are.For the record there is not a chance in hell a CFL team could beat an NFL team in any circumstances.

The real question is, could the 2005 grey cup champs, the Edmonton Eskimos (aka the Packers of Canada), beat the 2005 Texas Longhorns? Under CFL Rules? Under NCAA Rules?

:goodposting: Exactly. Forget all the rules differences- football is a game won or lost in the trenches and any NFL offensive or defensive line would absolutely own any CFL team. It would be ugly. I dont know that the NFL team would have to pass the ball at all, and the CFL team wouldnt have much advantage even with the extra guy- thats an extra NFL caliber defensive back that is a better athelete than anyone on their team. Even if the QB managed to get passes off before being engulfed he would have to find some pretty tight seems- and we arent talking about the greatest Qbs in the world here.

I can't believe I'm responding to this topic but...

I think the NFL team would dominate the trenches even if CFL rules and field was used.

If the OL and DL was somehow taken out of the game, the CFL team with CFL rules might actually hold their own. But as others have said, if you give the NFL team enough time to prepare for the rules/field, any advantage the CFL team had would be gone.

The best CFL team would be physically dominated by the worst NFL team, it'd be a total blowout. Having said that I feel the Eskimos of the late 70s- early 80s could have competed with half teams in the NFL of that era. That team was incredibly talented, on both sides of the ball.

i believe the c.f.l did play about 20 games against n.f.l teams in the late 60's early 70's...i remember 1 against the bills(i think). i believe the canadian league won 4 of them..... they played c.f.l rules the first half and n.f.l the second half....i think in todays era the n.f.l would win the majority of the time 95%.
