Cover 2 or Tampa 2 (1 Viewer)

Indy, Tampa and Minny is moving to it......who else plays this?
Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, Chicago have established Tampa-2 playbooks.Minnesota, Detroit, and Buffalo will use it this season.

Denver uses it from time to time, but not as a base defense.

Kansas City doesn't plan to use it much this year, but Herman Edwards apparently has Gunther Cunningham on board to transition in future years.

Cunningham is a cover 2 guy?
Probably by necessity, with the cornerbacks that've been through KC recently.

Cunningham is a cover 2 guy?
Nope. But Herman wants to run it. Gunther apparently showed up in Herman's office the day he was hired and showed him a bunch of Cover-2 schemes he'd been comfortable with in the past.I'll see if I can dig up the link.

If anybody has access to the archives and can post the relative quotes, that'd be cool.BTW, the Chiefs won't be running much Tampa-2 this season, if any really, but it'll be worth putting in your memory banks for the end of the year and for scouting this year's draft for future prospects.

Even though they have some history, I was surprised Herm went with Cunningham. I'll look for article... Thanks Jene
