Cowboys sign RB (1 Viewer)

I'd be surprised if he makes the team as a true running back. Probably a special team-er for life. Jones/Barber/Thompson would be a pretty tough line to bust into.

I tend to agree, but I do think that it still seems like Parcells may not be competely sold on JJ. Certainly a better spot for Summers than SD or something.

hmmm don't be so sure. Not this year but if he can make the team and keep his nose clean this year he does have a chance to be as good as any of these guys. This kid was one of the best high schools RBs EVER and has all the tools still. Got tossed out of S Caro. ealry but if he has his head on right now keep an close eye on him. Tons of talent here guys.

I don't know about that. We all know how much he HATES players who get injured, but I recently watched him say he thinks JJ's fortune will change. Parcels being an optimist liek that makes me think he wants JJ to suceed. It struck me as odd because he doesn't do that often, if ever.

I don't think Summers can even beat out TT, much less Barber and Jones, at any point in his career... whether he behaves or not. There are many better places for him than Dallas... such as Green Bay or Minnesota.

:lmao:

Is Parcells going to reinstitute the tradition of the "white house" too? Bringing in T.O. and now Summers along with MeShawn ought to provide some quality entertainment when they run afoul of Parcells' meek & mild nature.

meshawn is in carolina

Summers will challenge Thompson. Not JJ or Barber. If he can block better and hold onto the ball better, he might displace TT. There's a reason that JJ starts and TT gets only a couple of carries per game.

Don't bet on it. TT is the best athelete on the team, is a fantastic kick returner, and averaged 4 yards a carry when he played a full game. Summer's has a ways to go.

 So he is. So he is. My bad & good catch.

BP stated during his press conference. he's a day to day player. and he was late on his first day of work. and they had a talkin' and he understands that...

Summers might be that salvage job... Rickey, Larry, the guy from Miami a few years back, all had talent that let people over look their short comings. Summers had some people around him that made him realize there are consequences for your actions. I am not saying he is converted, but that this does look promising. He was right up there wih Reggie Bush coming outta high school.. I hope that Noel Devine notices, how far and hard Summers has fallen...

some more insight into why demetrius didn't get the contract at first.

As for Summers, the Cowboys liked his talent when he was brought in for the previous mini-camp on a tryout basis, but didn't like his conditioning. So the deal was, come back for another tryout next mini-camp and if you're in shape we can talk business. Well, he must have gotten himself in shape since the Cowboys by-passed his workout and signed him to the roster. He could be real good, but again, it's always hard to judge a guy after they miss playing for a whole year.

Nice signing imo.
Well, with his track record he will fit right in with Dallas. He just couldn't get it right anywhere that he went. This is what is wrong with Professional Sports, they give people like him another chance to make money instead of saying to him, thanks but no thanks. I guess it is all about winning, but they will never win with him on the roster.

Trust me, he will find trouble in Dallas.
