Crabtree = Fitzgerald, Harvin = Boldin (1 Viewer)

Crabtree is a slightly smaller version of Fitz. Long arms, amazing body control, hands, leaping. Strong, smart, hard working. Not quite as tall, but the wingspan is key here for both in addition to head to toe length. Both would prolly run 4.5 forties but it doesn't matter for these types of overall talents.

Harvin is a speedier but not quite as strong version of Q. Both played multiple positions in college before settling as WRs as pros. But play like RBs after catching the ball as a result. Harvin is explosive and though he may not be quite as strong as Anquan or most RBs, he would be considered very strong compared to the avg NFL WR.

I'd love to see the same team draft both these guys in the first two rounds. Like Fitz and Boldin they would make great complimentary WRs.

Harvin is a much different type of WR than Boldin. Can't pin him down with a comparison though. He'll be used in many different ways from a WR to a returner to maybe even a little 'Wildcat' (if drafted by a team that might try it).

Love every part of Crab's game & wouldn't be surprised if he turned into another Fitz.Harvin/Boldin: I don't really see the comparison there.

From what I have seen, Crabtree reminds me more of Boldin than he does Fitzgerald. Granted no player is a perfect match (as player is unique in their own way), but Crabtree seems to compare closer to Boldin than he does to any other elite WR in my eyes.

Laveranues Coles but better after the catch?

No, not at all.

Michael Crabtree = Roddy White, production may not be immediate

Percy Harvin = Peter Warrick, grade A athleticism but far from an NFL producer

Harvin=Ginn Jr.

Might even be overvalued in the draft the same way Ginn was.

Harvin = Harvin

and Crabtree = Crabtree

We see these comparisons being made ALL THE TIME here. Are any of them ever close? Ever? Do we ever think about them after they step on the field? Who is Mendenhall like now? He's like Mendenhall. Who is Royal like now? He's like Royal. DeSean Jackson? Yep, just like DeSean.

This is not to mention that not everyone's description of the same WR are usually the same. I know this is just meant to help visualize what a player is like, but wouldn't it just be better to describe what you actually see and then we can make our own comparisons of who we think it matches? Instead, it's just a non-stop comparison of finding a guy with similar body type of who we'd like to see them turn into.

Seriously, why do we see this SO MUCH here?

I'd see BMW and Marc Clayton as the other end of the respective spectrum for these two.
